I haven't been getting the ongoing. I thought the first mini was awesome, the second one, much less so. Too much stuff going on in the second one.

(Kid Prime note: The character of Jetfire was referred to as "Skyfire" in the cartoon, thus the two names.)
Jetfire lived as a scientist on Cybertron, in the days prior to the Autobot-Decepticon wars. In those days, he lived for research and knowledge. This drive led he and his best friend to a yellow star system, where he was lost, forever, it seemed. It was only much later that it was discovered that the planet where he was lost was actually Earth. His friend was named Starscream. Millenia later, the stranded Decepticons unearthed his body on Earth. Reviving him, they sought to make him a Decepticon, and while he was duped by Megatron and Starscream for a short while, it was when he realized the viciousness and mercilessness of Megatron that he also realized that he could never swear allegiance to the Decepticon cause. Instead, he found something better. He found the Autobots.
Jetfire combines his thirst for knowledge with the zeal of a warrior and the soul of a protector in his work for the Autobot cause. He can never quite forget that he was almost a Decepticon, though he has proven his loyalty to the Autobots time and again. Megatron and Starscream harbor a special hatred for "that traitor," as well. Jetfire is one of the most tireless of the Autobots in his protection of the humans of Earth.
Jetfire has the ability to achieve orbital escape velocity in his jet mode, though to do so drains him of most of his fuel. However, he is the Autobots' very greatest asset in getting them where they need to go, and FAST. Even under normal flight circumstances, he is blazingly fast. He is physically one of the largest Autobots, though his strength is surprisingly no match for his size. While he has remarkable firepower, both in robot and jet mode, his shielding and armor pales somewhat in comparison to Autobots like Brawn and Ironhide. Jetfire works best in a group of many Autobots, where they can get his back and maximize his full potential, both in flight and on the ground. He is indispensable for large, fast-moving strike forces and commando raids. While the Autobots got along well before Jetfire joined the team, the boost in mobility and air power his presence adds to the Autobot cause is extremely important to the continued success of Autobot operations on Earth.

quote:Murphy Talks Transformers An update on the live-action feature.
January 27, 2004 - In a posting yesterday on the message board of his official site, producer Don Murphy gave fans a brief update on the status of the live-action Transformers movie. "The Transformers film that I am doing with Tom DeSanto is still on target," wrote Murphy. "Three studios are discussing a deal as we speak. We hope to conclude a deal within the next month."
The producer promises Transformers fans that the filmmakers "are going to get this film right, and follow the classic mythology of the show and the comics."
Murphy adds that "everything you post on the board is read and discussed by us. That is why it is here. We do not always have time to reply – but your voice is listened to!"
