I was going to try to break 14,000 in August. Unfortunately, the motherboard on my computer seems to have gotten too old to work (something I try telling my boss about me, but he won't believe me). As it may be awhile before I can afford a new computer, my attendance on LW may be diminished for awhile.
At least, I accomplished my lifelong goal of reaching the Top Ten.

You can borrow my long-time explanation:
"I used to have a life, but I couldn't keep up the payments and so it got repossessed."
Remember me after you write your bestselling self-help book.

[snif!]
Don't suppose you could find a replacement board online and a friendly nerd to install it, could you?
Or we could hold a bakesale! Put on a show in the barn!

Mover and Shaker: Only one poster who was already in the Top 40 moves up: Dev Em (28).
Newbie on Board: Set enters at No. 39; he’s the first person to enter the Top 40 since Dev and Mattropolis, back in May, and the first totally new Top 40 member since Fanfic Lass, one year ago.
The Posters With the Mostest Club: Dev Em—598, cleome—592, Quislet, Esq.—502, Chief Taylor—352, Outdoor Miner—314
It must be the autumn blahs! Only nine Top 40 posters posted more than 100 times, down a whopping six from last month.

352 posts, huh? I SWEAR I wouldn't have had much more than fifty posts for the entire month if not for two threads: NYC Comic Con & Dev's postathon/Erin Gray thread! Both were groovalicious experiences, but otherwise LW's relative deadness and my own busy schedule would've combined to make this my weakest month in AGES! I've certainly been more prolific in past months, but it's pretty respectable under the circumstances--plus reaching 17,000 posts in the process!
Coolness!
