wouldn't a LMBP version of the Imperial Guard be overly redundant, since the Guard was already a LSH derivative?

I suppose, although the IG is so deeply rooted in the Cockrum/Grell version of LSH that with the passage of time and all the changes it looks more and more like its own thing.

We need an LMBP analogue for the WWII Losers. Four dudes & a dog who survived even *worse* experiences. Except we'd combine with the War that Time Forgot and then time warp them from WWII to the 31st Century.
