P.S. I'm loathe to do this since it'll shatter the happy illusion of the cute 22 year old that I'd prefer you all remember me as... but here's a more recent pic of me...

Looking good bro.
I know you live on the west coast but the landscape behind you reminds me of my aunt's place in Shepparton, 200 kms outside of Melbourne. I remember we would all get up at like 6:00am and drive 5 minutes to field like that one where farmers would put out the hay rolls ... not for the cows but for the kangaroos!!! How awesome was that!!!
As long as I live I will never forget that. Seeing one of my favourite animals in its "natural habitat", just behaving normally (as opposed to inside a zoo enclosure).

^ That's great FK! If you like kangaroos you would love the area around my parents' farm! That whole area around where I'm standing is a big gathering spot for them - there's shade and green and a creek just out of sight behind me that draws them all to it.
My Dad hates them because they're always snapping his wires and knocking his fences down - but they're a wild and interesting animal to me so no matter how many times I see them, I always get excited.

One of the highlights of my trip to Australia last summer was getting to play with a baby kangaroo at my friend's vet clinic... Its mother had been killed by a car but the baby survived in the pouch... It was adorable! Made me feel more than a bit guilty when I ate (and really enjoyed) kangaroo meat a few days later...

One of the most traumatic moments from my childhood was during a school bus trip to Kalgoorlie (a mining town about a 13 hour drive east of Perth into the desert) when we suddenly heard a big bang and then came to a screeching halt.
Everyone rushed to the window to see what had happened where we saw a poor dead kangaroo. The bus driver went out to inspect it and as he was kneeling over it we all suddenly saw a cute little baby joey weakly peer it's head out of the pouch.
"Oh what a cute baby kangaroo!" we all exclaimed. "And it's still alive! Hopefully we can take it with us! Maybe we could even adopt it!"
... a moment later we heard the gun shot.

What a cute little guy.
I once held a baby Koala bear at a park in Melbourne. It was so affectionate and friendly, and the cutest little thing you ever saw!

Can't wait to go back and explore the rest of that lovely country.
If all goes well we are heading back to Melbourne next April for my cousin's wedding.
We are trying to build in a stopover in Sydney for a few days before that too! Should be awesome. Can't wait!!!
