Well, Rocky, all I can say is: never underestimate the magical glow borne of a really good local microbrew-- no matter which party is on which side of the lens.

Thanks, Cobie. It's in a tiny village near the "spur" of the "boot" called Ripalimosani.
A few years back I did some geneological research on my paternal lineage and found that this village of about 2000 people is where my great-grandfather emigrated from. I told my dad that if I ever got the chance I would return there to see our roots.
Well, I got the chance, and was astounded to find a place basically untouched by time. People live there like they have for hundreds of years, farming olives and pomegranates. The town itself is very hard to get around in as it's a set of steeply stacked stone buildings connected by precarious stairwells:
Although I didn't find anyone who remembered my specific line (it's been 100 years after all), I did get to share a drink with several people in a cafe who shared my last name, and saw my great-great uncle's name on a WWI memorial plaque on the church.
It was a fantastic experience, and one well off the beaten "tourist track",

Now *that* is the kind of thing I'd love to do on vacation (it makes me really want to go to Ireland, where most of my ancestors are from). Very cool you were able to find something unique to do that could give you a feel for something most people normally dont' get to see!

Rick, I just tried to bring or to link a photo from my facebook account. I could not do it.
The way to go is to get a free photobucket account, upload your photos to there, then you can post them here.

So, I don't know if I've mentioned to everyone that I was laid off from my "real" job (Catering Sales Manager). Since I've had new time on my hands, I've started doing fun stuff like audition for music shows, etc, and found myself needing a headshot.

This is a very, very young Dean. I don't know why I'm being so melancholy. Maybe I'm pretending I'm a Calvin Klein model or something. Anyway, I thought it'd work for a picture of Colossal Boy, realizing that he'd never get Violet...

I know this picture is fake. Brainiac 5 would never go out partying with Sun Boy.
