While I have no political aspirations of my own, I have had my eye on one young fellow who I think is just the type of leader that Legion World needs in these dark times.
Dubbed the funniest poster by his peers, this fellow humbly deferred the title, opting to focus his attention on "serious issues," observing that:
"The earth is an insignificant, wet rock hurtling through a dark and dangerous universe. Doom, I say. I'm frightened for us all."
Now, that's the type of honesty and perspective rarely seen in our leaders. While I can't speak for him, if he's up for the task, I, for one, would like to nominate:
Ram Boy
What say you, RB... is it "The Year of the Ram?"

*ahem* I should also point out that at the moment the Deputy Leader is to be determined by whomever finishes second place in the voting as it was in the classic LSH elections. Last election, we had running mates for the first time with candidates running with their own Deputy candidates as a "ticket". It was stated that an exception would be made for that election. If that exception is to be made again, there would need to be a general consensus as there was last time. Otherwise, the traditional method shall resume.

I feel that there hasn't been enough scandal in the current administration. Boring!
Bring on the back-room deals and the bathroom footsies under the stall and the ethical complaints and the taxpayer-funded 'fact-finding missions' to the Seven Planets of Sin!
Also, orgies.
I'll just pick a random poster out of the book.
Hmm. Not him. Nope. No way! Still owes me money. Aha!

I nominate Lardi. Because a Legion World Leader Election just isn't the same without corruption, bribes and false promises by the candidate and their promoters.

If Dr. Mayavale runs, I will gladly be his deputy leader on the ticket!
I kind of like the leader / deputy leader ticket idea so I for one am up for keeping that.

Thank you, Exnihil, I hardly know what to say.
Friends and Shark Lad, The other day, as I was seriously considering donating to an organization which takes sad little orphans to the zoo so they can appreciate first hand the baby seals, adorable penguins, intelligent rams and evil blood thirsty sharks, I realized that tomorrow isn’t just a word. No, it's also a place. A place where we can all meet and form bonds of unity, friendship and understanding. Bonds which will carry us through any adversity or - lol - "infinite crisis" - lol - to even more tomorrows. Then, right after I ripped up the check realizing I could always donate tomorrow, I thought, "You know? Tomorrow is cool, but today is cool, too. After all, it's what gets us to tomorrow."
You see, friends and friends to be, it's like we're all together in a car driving someplace, but because there are so many of us, we need something bigger than a car. Something more like… a bus. Not just any bus, though. A Special Bus!“
So hop on board that Special Bus with me andWe'll Drive Towards Our Many Bright Future Tomorrows Together Today!
Furthermore, I humbly accept the nomination and vow to put aside any grievances and vendettas for the term of the campaign.

Same here. For what I assume are obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, I'm nominating Sarcasm Kid for LMB leader, mostly because at least that way he'll have an excuse for all those unfinished fanfics.
blah blah blah change hope new frontier blah blah...
That is all.

I'm not allowed to run in back-to-back elections, am I? Even if I am, I don't think it's a great idea, especially given the last two terms ended up being about a year apiece! Maybe, however, I'll consider being someone's running mate...
Speaking of which:

Hmmm...it seems this concept still has a lot of support. While I'm not opposed, I'd remind everyone that the other way offers a nice consolation prize to the first loser, er, runner-up. Plus it's more in keeping with LSH tradition. But if everyone prefers running mates, I'm for it.
As far as how it worked, generally the nominee asked someone to run with them or someone offered him/herself up. It seemed to pan out pretty naturally.
