So I was just outside and I saw a hawk looking so cool just gliding around without flapping his wings at all. Anyway, it got me thinking about flying - specifically about different superhero flying styles.

Assume that you could fly, and that propulsion were a non-issue (as though you had some sort of... I don't know... ring or something [Wink]

that allowed you to fly).

What position would you affect while soaring around?

Googling up some images, there are a wide variety of styles: the Superman-ish fist forward thing; arms forward; arms in a V; one leg cocked; Silver Age Supergirl sprawling all over the place; etc.

I think I'd favor a sort of "airplane" style - arms out to the side, legs together, feet pointed back. It just seems like a "natural" way to keep balanced and steer.

How about you... how would you fly?

Also, it's easy to look down and enjoy the view that way.

Arms forward and legs together and feet pointing straight backwards. Kind of like diving into water.

Cool topic!

I'd say Sorcerer-style. Almost vertical, but not quite. Kind of like hovering but with forward momentum. See illustration below.
