Over at the ComicBloc Forums they have a thread devoted to assembling a new team for Nightwing to lead. As many are hoping for an Adult Titans team, I went with:

The Titans
01) Nightwing
02) Donna Troy
03) Lilith (what do you mean she's dead? everyone else is coming back [Wink] )
04) Azrael
05) Changeling (Beast who? [Wink] )
06) Flamebird
07) Connor Hawke
08) Tempest
09) Jericho
10) Raven
11) Kyle Rayner
12) Oracle (parttime behind the scenes information specialist)

Anyone else wanna try?

I like your lineup Princess. I would just make some very slight changes.

The Titans

01) Nightwing
02) Donna Troy (what are we going to call her these days? Wonder Chick? [Big Grin] )
03) Lilith
04) Changeling
05) Flamebird
06) Connor Hawke (he needs a codename also ~ how does Shaft sound? Oh waait, I guess that's taken [Big Grin] )
07) Tempest
08) Jericho
09) Kyle Rayner
10) Captain Marvel Jr. or Mary Marvel (I prefer Freddie here and Mary in the JLA or JSA but could see it the other way around)
11) Cyborg
12) Karate Kid (If he's going to be stuck in the present, this is where he would truly fit on a team)

I like some of these ideas. It's like Titans meet JLA.

Nightwing, Tempest, Donna Troy, Connor Hawke, Kyle Rayner and Flamebird would be an awesome team!

Maybe Changeling, Cyborg, and Jericho too.

No Titans connection. Let Dick move on a bit.

1. Nightwing
2. Dr.Light
3. Huntress
4. Zatanna
5. Metron
6. Ragman
7. Comet

1. Nightwing
2. Superman
3. Wonder Woman
4. Flash
5. Red Arrow
6. Green Lantern
7. Black Canary
8. Vixen
9. Red Tornado

At this point, Dick should be in the JLA.

Hmmm....

1) Nightwing
2) Arsenel
3) Joker's Daughter
4) Flamebird
5) Mal Duncan
6) Bumblebee (as she was originally with a hi-tech suit - no shrinking)
7) Lilith (but as she was originally with only flashes of precognition)
8) Tempest

Hmm. Do you think that is what DC has planned? If Batman is taking over the Outsiders, might Dick be taking his place in the League?

Possibly...but he hasn't survived Countdown yet so the jury is still out on that.

BTW, be sure to check out my companion thread for this one Build a Team for Tim

I can only hope.

The rumor going around is that he'll end up in some kind of "Adult Titans" group, which I can only see as a step sideways.

I guess I'm from the other camp. I've never believed that the Justice League is the logical future for the Titans. Maybe thirty years ago, when they were still sidekicks, but they outgrew that role decades ago.

Unfortunately, if a Titan joins the JLA I will only think of them as the fill-in for their former mentor. That's how I see Roy now: he's filling the Green Arrow slot until Green Arrow comes back to the team.

If Batman leaves the JLA to lead the Outsiders, I would see Dick as Bruce's temporary substitute, even though as a character I prefer Dick over Bruce.

As the Titans, the former sidekicks are their own people, and they act as no one's substitute. In the JLA, they are only walking in someone else's shoes.

I have to say I kind of agree with you Princess, and here's part of the reason why: the JSA is still around, too. I kind of think of it as the creme of each generation. Personally, I kind of think it would be neat if Dick, Donna, Garth, and maybe Wally and Kyle had thir own world to protect at the end of Countdown, although currently I think we're going to end up with one earth with Hyper-time, instead of distinct worlds.

Yeah, I tend to think the Titans should succeed the JLA rather than "graduating" to them.

I also think that a Titan in the JLA 95% of the time means 'temporary replacement' (like Roy is now), so I'm not usually fan unless it fits nicely, like Wally.

A team for Dick? I would have kept him as leader of the Outsiders, with this line-up:

1) Nightwing
2) Halo
3) Metamorpho
4) Frankenstein
5) Dr. Light
6) Cyborg
7) The Creeper
8) Kitana (though I'm on the fence about this one)
9) Thunder

Recurring non-official members: The Question (Renee Montoya), Zatana & Bulleteer.

Guest stars: Klarion the Witch Boy, Odd Man, Manhattan Guardian (who I'd really love in JLA), and even Roy Raymond TV Dectective.

Has anyone mentioned how deliciously wrong the title of this thread is? If not, consider it mentioned. [Smile]

Anyway, I'm something of a traditionalist, so I'd probably lean Dick more towards teams he's had success at running. (READ: Not the Outsiders.) But, honestly, I kinda think an all Bat team would best be led by Dick. He's much more of a people person than Bruce, as Bruce himself pointed out during the Infinite Crisis.

1. Nightwing
2. Robin (Because I love him and Dick needs his little brother around.)
3. Batwoman (I still think she has a lot of potential.)
4. Black Canary (I said I was a traditionalist... and she is from Gotham.)
5. Oracle (And I'm a sucker for the original Birds of Prey.)
6. Nemesis (A bit of a stretch but he started out in the Brave and the Bold and, well... his powers rock. Hardcore. Plus, I have girly crush on him.)
7. Azrael (Who is a character that had a lot of potential and, since he's not confirmed dead, I'm going to assume he can make a comeback. Plus I love how nutso he is.)

With the new Question and Batman around for support, I really think the team could go a long way. Sure, it wouldn't be dealing with JLA caliber threats but they have all the workings for a sort of hybrid BoP/Outsiders concept. Besides, I really like Dick with his family...

I wouldn't mind seeing a Batman Family title, featuring both characters without their own title and team ups of family members.

So you mean a team like this:

Obsidian
Hero Cruz
Pied Piper
Tasmanian Devil
