It's been awhile since I've had a humerous, comics-related, "kids-say-the-darndest-things" story to share (maybe all of you are relieved?).

The almost-5-year old and I went to the CBS on Saturday. The boy was so proud of himself (as was I) for spotting the current Teen Titans Go! issue as the 2nd part of the 'split Raven' story. He was quite pleased with himself.

On the way home, he thumbed through TTG and the Legion cartoon comics. It is a major advance in his fine motor skills that he can do this without ripping the comics to shreds.

Anyway, I'm concentrating on the traffic when he says something that sounds like "the real Raven has black assrag, but the 4-eye Raven has red assrag."

I somehow manage not to swerve into oncoming traffic. I AM wondering if I should have scanned the comics before buying them. Mustering some calm, I ask Emmett to repeat himself.

After a few iterations, I realize he is saying that the real Raven has "black Azarath," his excellent name for the animated Raven's power manifestation (since she always says her mantra Azarath Metrion Zinthos!)

So, accept no substitutes for genuine Black Azarath!

[LOL] I think I'm going to start calling people "assrag". But only my friends!

Quite observant of him. I believe you have a comic geek in the making. Congrats!

I guess that explains why little kiddie books are printed on such heavy paper.

The first time I gave him a comic, he ripped the cover off while opening it. Now, if he would only lift up the sofa with one hand to find the toys lost underneath, we'd be getting somewhere.
