I think it says that they're trying to boost her solo series sales by making her join another prominent team. Just my personal opinion, though.
Also, she can stay with the Legion for as long as they like 'cause she was gone during 52. There's no rule that she has to be gone the same amount of time in the present that she spends in the future, y'know?
Wow. Time travel makes my brain hurt..

McKeever also hints in a reply to a posted comment that Blue Bettle will be more than just a guest star for that one issue.
I would actually love to see him join the TT. Jaime is a likable kid and would fit in very well with the other Titans. He also brings quite a bit of firepower to the table (though he's still in the learning stages concerning what exactly he can do. My felling is that he would be comparable to a GL)

Hmm... anyone want to wager that the longstanding mystery in the DCU referred to in this interview is the origin of Duela?

EDE, you beat me to it! No doubt Duela will turn out to be related somehow to the Jokester, the new Earth-3 (Crime Syndicate) character introduced in McKeever's one-shot spin-off from Countdown on the Crime Syndicate. But of course, with a weekly series, you really need spin-offs to really rip off the fans... I mean, to have enough room to tell the story.
It would make sense for Duela to be related to a "good guy" version of the Joker. It would explain alot about her past -- she comes from heroic roots, but being on New Earth, where the Joker is a villain, she is torn between good and evil. Makes sense.
I AM intrigued about what a good guy Joker would be -- would he be any different from the Creeper or a reformed Ambush Bug? It might be worth it to see the Clown Prince of Crime-Fighting chaotically disrupt the ruthlessly logical plans of the Caped Criminal Owlman!

I have to admit, as skeptical as I am of most of what DC is doing right now... the new Earth-3 has me really intrigued. Maybe it's because I always felt like the original Earth-3 was never developed enough that I feel like they're screwing it up the way they are the rest of the multiverse, or maybe it's just because I *really* like the Earth-3 concept, but this is sounding pretty cool.
