Welcome to MoLA! We begin March with the Dox Family. For the first half of the month, post your creations in honor of the BRAINIACS. This includes any version of Querl Dox - the Legion's Brainiac 5, Vril Dox from L.E.G.I.O.N, Brainiac 4, Brainiac himself, or any others in the line-up. Go ahead and include Koko! Go ahead and include friends, enemies and lovers!
Then, in the second half of the month, it will be time to post CRACK PAIRINGS. A crack pairing is 2 characters who would be very unlikely to really get together in the actual comic book. For example, if there are 2 characters who never actually appeared in an issue together.
Bonus points go to those who mesh our 2 topics together -- Brainiac Crack Pairings.
We love brand new submissions (stories, poems, prose, novels, paintings, drawings, photomanips, action figures, statues, busts, micros, etchings, etc.) but we certainly want your existing work posted in the galleries too! Come join us all month long starting on the 1st for the shindig!

Well, I can't believe it, but the first image I found from Holo Model contests is Pulsar Stargrave in his tighty whiteys!

Yes, I started this gallery a tad early because I have a busy weekend scheduled. I hope to do some new sketches for this, too.

In Matter-Eater Lad & the LSH, Chester "Dagon the Avenger" Spiffany had assembled his own version of the LSV which was going to consist of (mainly duped) relatives and acquaintances of the real Legion.
One of those members was going to be Brainiac 4....

Brainy falls asleep in the lab: One of the reasons B and Laurel broke up or one of the reasons Laurel cared so much?

Crazy Brainy Mama

Creeeeepy.
And now, a Christmas story about Brainiac 5, Shrinking Violet, Ragman, and robot Santa.
We'll switch over to CRACK PAIRINGS in just a couple of days!
I'm soliciting ideas! Who should be crack paired? What should they do on their crack pairing?
Posted by Sarcasm Kid on :
Well, I did a Timber Wolf/Infectious Lass story where Drura's taking care of Brin after she accidentally makes her sick. He offers to go to a movie with her when he's feeling better and kisses him on the cheek.
...
The next morning he wakes up and Brainy asks "Brin, do you know what Granderian Gender-Reversal germs are?"
(Crap, I forgot to edit this. I mean he kissed her. Gah. Either way, the picture can still fit. Sorry if I've cause trouble)

And let's see...
*A Garth/Mysa story where Glorith traps them in this nightmarish version of the Nutcracker. She intends to give Mysa to Mordru, and keep Garth to herself. Mysa isn't her usual white-skinned version.
*A Cos/Shady AU I'm still working on. It's based on a 70s horror comic and they are Earth highschool students.

Now that we're halfway through March, it's time to start posting CRACK PAIRINGS!
Let's see these off-the-wall, oddball match ups... and remember, bonus points go to those who come up with Brainicrack Pairings.
Have fun!

Based on Sarc's idea...

For this one, I went as randomly off the top of my head as possible... Tyroc and Shikari

Would you believe this isn't the first time someone did art for a fic of mine?
Oop. Before I forget, here are a couple that are kinda popular on ff.net.
*Emperiex: Emerald Empress/Imperiex.
*Tinya & Garth.

1000GreenSun threw a crack contest over at ff.net. I accidentally killed/overran my original goal of a more-or-less plot-free two-parter and ended up with this:
Pairing is Cham/Vi, so I guess that makes it ES-flavored crack (cartoon-verse). If you like that kind of excursion. If I ever finish the damn thing, I'll give it its own thread.
What I've learned so far from this experience is that the most fatal sentences is the English language are, Hey this idea looks fairly straightforward. How hard can it be ? Just a little four-sentence outline and...
Now I'm going to drink two pots of coffee and then knock out Ch. 6. Somebody have mercy.

Sketchy, is very nice work.
Oh, and I failed to be scarred for life by SK's "The Surprise." Actually I thought it was adorable. Sorry, SK.

Eh. It happens.

On the bright side, I haven't had time to go back and finish reading the Xmas fic. So there's still a chance that I could end up having horrible nightmares from that one. I mean, March isn't even halfway over yet.
My problem with most crack pairings is that I have to really, really hate at least half the pair before I start to get profoundly unnerved by them. Or there has to be a monumental age gap, something like that. (Well, as long as we're not talking an author who's never heard of spellchecker or grammar... That's its own punishment/reward regardless of who's waltzing around the dance floor with who.)

And Gates, with his claw on the wine glass, who would have known?
Posted by Candle on :
I was going to put this in the Cupid's Wing but decided it fit better here.
(trying again, sorry)
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
This is 100% inspired by Candle's energetic affection for Calvin as Brainy...

I attempted to change/color this one, using Paint on this old computer. I did something right, since everything didn't freeze up when I tried to use it! sigh
Anyway, like Sketch said, I tried to make Hobbes look more like a wolf and less like a tiger. I pointed his ears, fluffed and straightened his tail and tried to remove his stripes. Calvin I just colored with Brainy colors.
Hobbes, even though he's a tiger, seems to make the leap to Brin fairly easily, for me.
