Excellent start Drake! What could be more anachronistic than a Great Big Red Flaming Shadow Warrior. the Lightning reminds me of the movie Big Trouble in Little China!
Here's a challenge for you ( or anyone else): Teenage Mutant Ninja Tellus! Hero in a Helmet!

Ooh, I think Star Boy might be my favorite! They're all great, though, Drake. You've got some serious talent, dude.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Drake, you are SO creative and skilled! I'm just glad you're a Legion fan and are willing to share this all with us!
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
I have some ideas for this exhibit, but haven't sketched 'em out yet.

Oh wow, Drake. The Trips are fabulous and I adore Cos! They're all brilliant-- you've got some serious talent, dude.

These are superb! I'd love to see a Ninja Legion Elseworlds now.

Wow! These really look kick-ass!

Awesome stuff Drake. I love the ones of Lightning Lad, the Trips, Cos and Star Boy! The way the Trips are sorta interlocked is totally cool. And gosh, Ninja Wildfire's costume rocks, whodda thunk he'd work as a Ninja?
Any plans on adding in Imra, to get all three 'Ninja Legion' founders, or is she gonna be all 'Arr matey!' with the floppy hat and big earrings?

Salu/Atom Girl, in case it needs to be said.
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
Actually, I was able to figure it out - great job!

I knew who she was immediately! Nice!
Posted by Caliente on :
Wow, FC, did you draw that? The shading is so cool! Love her.

Don't be mislead by the avatar Caliente, that's Kent, not FC...
Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :
Nice one, Kent! I also figured it out it was Vi. See, you're better than you give yourself credit for
Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :
And Drake, I love your Tinya!

I guess Europe addled my mind. What I said but substitute Kent for FC.
Also, great Projectra, Drake. The crowns are a classic touch. Faboo.

Coolest Ferro Lad ever.

Drake, this is an amazing exhibit! Thank you!
Posted by Caliente on :
My Mon-El, what a large sword you have. Overcompensating for something, perhaps..? Don't worry, I won't tell Shady.
Seriously-- great Mon-el, Drake! And Ferro Lad is even better! So cool. You rock, man. Space rock, even!
Posted by Kent Shakespeare on :
Mon could easily cary a sword like that. Clark couldn't; it would ruin his secret ID.
Nice stuff, Drake!
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
So yeah, I just can't get me enough ninjitsu-legion!

I always meant to do this one for the gallery, but ran out of time, then ran out of steam. Thanks for resurrecting the thread - it gave me some motivation:

It took me a minute to figure out what was going on with the two Jos, but then I saw the thread title. I forgot it was ninjas AND pirates.
Ever thought of doing more of 'em?
Posted by Candle on :
That's a fun idea! You do action so well, Drake. And, having just come from Project Runway, I have to say that your 'fashion' sense is really good, too.
Here's a little pirate from the Hampster Universe:
He's Captain Tharok, of ship Fatal Five.
He's by Khnum666.
Followed by HampyTharok, stiffly getting his picture taken -
Photo found on photobucket multiple times.

Neat! Cap'n Jo, of the buccaneer, Green Dragon, faces off against one of the assassins of the Jade Wing!

More of what exactly?
And thanks for the kudos guys!
Posted by Sarcasm Kid on :
More of a Pirate Legionnaire Vs Ninja Legionnaire.
Action Comics Garth Vs Mike Grell Garth
Sensor Vs Projectra (Sensor could be a mermaid)
FYL Chuck Vs Bouncing Ninja
You get my drift?
Posted by Candle on :
Naga/Ninja vs Mermaid/Pirate would be astoundingly magical! The very idea takes my breath away! Really! No being sarcastic or anything.
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
Oh, ok - I see! Interesting... it sounds like it might be a gallery subject all by itself!
Posted by Candle on :
ooooooooowwwwwww! Shikari vs Dawnstar! vs ! oooooowwwwwwwwww!
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
There is a Versus Vestibule gallery thread which could house any of the above ideas. Any ninja and/or pirate themed images are welcome in this thread.
Posted by Candle on :
Well, I'm still not up to the challenges I'd like to be up to but here's the last of my currant lady pirates:
Analeigh from cycle 10, by Andy Tan

Photobucket discontinued this album. sigh

Drake, if you ever stop by again, did you ever do a Ninja Saturn Girl? Actually, she'd fit it better then the others. Who would make a better ninja than a girl who can control minds and/or shield her thoughts.

AAAHHH that is amazing!!!
I think I saw it on facebook on my iphone, but seeing the full detail on a full-size computer monitor is tons better!
Posted by Sarcasm Kid on :
I can't believe I didn't post these in here yet.
Based on Drake's artwork, I got a sketch card of Garth as a ninja by Brendon and Brian Fraim.
And Tim Smith 3 drew Saturn Girl as a ninja for me.
Posted by Set on :
Cosmic Boy could make a neat ninja, particularly in a higher-tech environment, able to scramble electronic surveillance devices with magnetism, and use his powers to perform ridiculous leaps and wall-climbing stunts (by magnetizing the metal in his outfit) and send metal shurikens in all directions!
Garth as Raiden/ninja is awesome.

Fraim Brothers rock! Their style is very pleasing to me.
