There were a bunch of these kicking around in my computer, and since there was so much LoSH love goin' around that hey, I caught the bug again.
This was one of the first animated!LoSH style designs I did. What with Colu being all Brainiac-style robots now, and me at the time utterly obsessed with L.E.G.I.O.N., I sort of wondered how Vril would change now. Yes, it totally contradicts his character, but I longed to see him animated. Based on the Timm model of Brainiac - sort of like an older model for the Coluans?

When the first preview pic for the animated series came out, lot of people didn't like Saturn Girl's new look. Not me - I swear I am the biggest fan of her widow's peak ever. If there is one thing I love about the animated LoSH's designs, it's that they did go out of their way to make the characters look alien. Because... well, they are aliens. Anyways, sharpie doodle.

I usually dislike OCs and such, but since I acknowledge that this is a total self-insert, and I've been conscious not to make Lurker Lass the paragon of beauty, it's okay, right?
As far as planets go, I figured Bgztl made the most sense for a lurker? Also, I fell in love with their designs in the cartoon. Her symbol is also a bit of a ref - Phantom Girl's cartoon logo is like a Pacman ghost, so Lurker's is Pacman! Sort of. Aimed for the sleepless stalker look, mostly. Also, she does look rather unintentionally emo. I swear I am not.

Just so you're all aware, I have an unreasonably large obsession with Mekt. All the comic versions, plus the animated one. His cartoon outfit's the best, though. (Seriously, red white and green, what were you thinking.)

This was my first doodle when I got my new tablet. Always liked Shikari, and that red dress she had on in Legion Lost. This was a cartoon-styled design where I tried to make her look... insect-ish? I did some better sketches of this look later, should make a new one. Anyways.

Man, when I heard that Karate Kid was going to be one of the main players in Countdown, I was so psyched and drew this. Then I heard Karate Kid was going to be in season 2 and I realized that the show's design was probably going to be ten times cooler than mine, but here it is anyways.

I'll admit, I was super-happy about this one. It matched Garth's, and the design on Ayla's chest could double as a symbol for Light Lass or Lightning Lass! Hurrah for negative and positive space. Nevermind that she'll probably not look like this at all, now that Garth's outfit is all different and hardcore in season 2.

Those are really good, Lurker Lass!
I loved the Karate Kid costume. It preserves the best elements of his white and black outfit sans the impractical high collar.
I also like Light(ning) Lass's costume and your rationale for the design.
By the way, I like the animated version of Saturn Girl, too. Your version captures her cool, exotic quality without making her seem too aloof.

Aw, the positive response is pretty overwhelming! I'm pretty psyched that my costume designs went over well, actually XD
(It is actually a pipe dream of mine to draw for the animated LoSH comic. Pleeeease. It looks so fuuuun.)
And in response to Star Boy's question: I am totally sucky when it comes to vectors, so everything you're seeing (except the Saturn girl picture, that was pen and sharpie) is photoshop. Mekt was the last picture I did before I got my tablet, so the early ones were also done with the mouse.
Thinking of taking a little break from the tablet, doing a little sketching... hopefully I'll have some more stuff to show soon! (although, I do have some other stuff in different threads, should I post them in this one too?)

Because as much as I like 3boot Brainy not looking like he's naked in green tights, I had to reconcile the purple Brainiac symbol coat with myself somehow. Maybe they're a standard in the future. I imagine him being the type to not care too much about how he's dressed anyways. Throw on a coat, that's good enough for him.

I just like drawing Shikari. Don't know why. That cute red dress she wore in Legion Lost was the cutest thing - I loved it. Wish they didn't get rid of it - her tights covered up too much skin (can't see the exo-armor that way!) and looked like she was almost naked half the time.

Nice ones. I like Jo, though I think he has one of the most iconic costumes at DC and doesn't need more than minor alteration, from time to time. This is a good use of existing elements.
Now, if I could just find that belt buckle....

Shikari is so brilliant, too. I agree that the red dress was the best. She was so cute! I remember her first appearance. For me, she was definitely a Legion Lost highlight. (The rest... eh.)
And Jo. Sweet, dumb Jo. I love his model pose-- it's so fitting for the 3boot for some reason. Reminds me of a model show or something. Too sexy for his shirt! So sexy it hurts!

Yeah, spiky hair Brainy is great! And he used to wear a lab coat sometimes. I like the idea of him just grabbing any old coat to put on.
Jo looks like the best of Jo, confident, joking and strong.
Shikari - lovely! I miss her. This looks like a wiser Shikari, not the innocent stranger in a strange world look she was often given.

Woo! Thanks, everyone! Yeah, in case you couldn't tell yet, I just really, really like dressing up characters. It's like some terrible disease.
(I love faces too. They are my super-favouritest thing to draw. Sometimes I just pound off pages of nothing but facefaceface.)
(If superheroines are so frequently posed like models, I see no reason why the guys can't flaunt it either. Gives us girls something nice to look at once in a while, heh. )

And to make all the blacks a bit more interesting, I am thinking... living, flickering darkness? As for Jenni, I fell for her on account of her big brown eyes alone. SO cute.

Phenominal work as always. At first glance I thought you drew Jenni with Storm. However, your cartoom Shadow Lass was very good. Maybe the producers of the cartoon could use you to draw templates of the characters not used yet.

THIS is the Shikari that I used to think of with Gates!
I used to talk with mostly Mystery Lad, about Gates cocooning and coming out a little more like Shikari, perhaps not looking so much like a catapillar. Not too different but more butterfly like. sigh And this is a perfect Shikari for him.
