Hello Guys... I rarely post on here I know, but there is something I wanted to share with you all.
Introducing Princess Projectra
For Christmas I got a Robert Tonner Wonder Woman doll. She is 16 inches tall. I started looking at what other dolls they make and found this one. So I started looking for someone that sews doll clothes. I found this marvelous woman named Dawn, and sent her some pictures of the Legion women. She is going to do all the female Legionnaires for me in the 70's style. I told her that I was going to post the pictures here. She said that if anyone wanted to have any made she would be willing to be commissioned to do it. She is a professional doll maker. I hope you all enjoy these pics. I have never posted with pictures before so I hope the links work.

Wow, it looks like it was intended to be Jecky! Lovely.
I'd love to see more details. Great job!
Posted by Ram Boy on :
How fun! The eyes look amazing.
Posted by Monkey Eater Lad on :
Wow, really cool! Bet she could kick G.I. Joe's butt.
Posted by Dain on :
Now, that's Jeckie!! That lady does amazing work Healex. (Love your avatar, btw).
Posted by Healex on :
Thanks guys. I'm going to try and get better pictures. I agree that they need to be a little bigger for the details. I can't wait till I get the ext one she is currently working on.
Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :
Who is she working on now?
the Princess never looked better. Who was the doll supposed to be originally?
Posted by Tekwych on :
I've never picked up a Tonner but heard nothing but good about them. How's the articulation? It does appear that Dawn does excellent work, does she have a website or eBay store?
I can't wait to see Irma and Dawnstar.
Posted by MLLASH on :
That may be the kewlest doll EVER!!!!
Posted by Healex on :
She is working on Light Lass now. I figured I'd be easy on her and do what I thought would be hard then easy. LOL. She was originally a Sydney Chase doll I think. Tek I don't think she has an e-bay store, but she did say I could pass on her e-mail if anyone wanted. The picture that I first sent her was a photo manip that had the ladies in it. Dawn naturally picked DawnStar as her favorite and she can't wait to start on her, but I just haven't found the right base doll for her.
Oh and LASHY....she is going to be doing Drura for me as well. hehehehehe

I can't WAIT to see the Dru doll!

Time for me to REALLY show off my uber geekness - One of the best customizers bodies on the market today is from the Obitsu company of Japan (Bring your Bablefish). These are raw bodies that allow you to adjust hight, bust size, and facial contours. Hair, eyes and clothes are sold separately. The easiest way to get the bodies here in the states is through Hobby Link Japan but their selection is limited. Figures, wigs, eyes and other accessories can also be purchased through Parabox who have an english shopping cart.

That's very fine work on the costume. It's going to be an impressive collection. Next you'll need a dollhouse-clubhouse for them!
Posted by knowjack on :
I have a Tonner doll (bought it used) that would make a GREAT Cockrum costumed Shrinking Violet.
Posted by Healex on :
knowjack...I just got one that is either going to be Violet, Phantom Girl of Night Girl. I haven't decided yet which to have her do. LOL
Posted by PolarBoy on :
wow thats freaking awsome.
If i may be so rude how much did the costume cost?
Posted by knowjack on :
I have a bunch of my niece's old Barbie and Ken dolls in a box and they are BEGGING to be in Legion costumes...if I could only sew!

Hello Polar Boy....depending on how hard it is. $80 and up. And since I can't sew I'm doing this route.
She just sent me the pictures for Light Lass. So as soon as I get the outfit, I'll post the pictures.
Can any of you guess as to which one I picked next?
Posted by Caliente on :
I'm guessing Phantom Girl. (That's who I'd pick, anyway. She's sexy. )

Haha, but of course. I'm no Crujectra but I try..
Posted by Healex on :
Ok Guys... here is the 2nd one. I hope you enjoy her.
Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :
Excellent Light Lass. You'll have to do her girlfriend Shrinking Violet next
Posted by Healex on :
Hello Guys... Here is my 3rd in a series of custom dolls. Phantom Girl... I hope you all enjoy her.
The Fourth one is going to take about 1 month. Major re-do on this one. Anyone wanna take a guess as to how that is?
If anyone is going to the San Deigo Comic Con, and can help me in getting the Robert Tonner convention exculsive of Mera, I'd greatly appriecate it.

Excellent Phantom Girl.
Who is the next one? Shrinking Violet?
When you get to Saturn Girl are you going to go for the pink bikini or the more traditional costume?

That looks great Healex!

Well I am going for the Cockrum/Grell look Quislet. So I'll be having the pink bikini done. I plan on doing all of the female Legionnaires. Thou White Witch will be in her Giffen outfit.
This is what has been done so far. 1st Princess Projectra 2nd Light Lass 3rd Phantom Girl
These are the ones that I plan on having done:
Saturn Girl (Pink Bikini) Duo Damsel (Two - One in Orange One in Purple) and an extra outfit that is spilt down the middle. Supergirl (Tonner has made her, but going to have the '70s outfit made) Dream Girl (Silver outfit) Shadow Lass (Black Bikini with stripe down the front) Shrinking Violet (With the green thigh high boots) DawnStar (Wings and all) White Witch (Giffen design)
Subs and Reserves Night Girl (Vampirella type costume) Infectious Lass (YES THANK GOD) Insect Queen (Classic Costume)
Villians Emerald Empress Quicksand
and maybe Charma.
The next one is either... White Witch, Infectious Lass, Shadow Lass or Dawnstar. Those would be the hardest to customize. hehehehehe
Posted by Pov on :
Wow! Nice!
What are you using for your base figure, Healex? And how much does it generally cost you to customize, if you don't mind my asking?
Very impressive work... have you posted pics of your other customs? I'd love to see them.
Posted by minesurfer on :
I'd like to think that I can recognize talent in this hobby. And folks we have a talented customizer here.
Bravo.
Posted by Kid Prime on :
That is way beyond fantastic! Wow!!!
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
She's gorgeous! Very good work.
Posted by knowjack on :
WOW! Love it! I'm jealous. I have one of these tonner dolls with long black hair and bangs that would make a great Cockrum costume Violet.
Posted by Healex on :
Knowjack....more than likely thats the one I'll be using. I've seen one with bangs and thought of Salu.
Posted by knowjack on :
Cool...I saw it at a toy store that was going out of business and thought I'd buy it for some future use as a hero figure. Can't wait to see yours!

There is nothing... NOTHING I WOULD NOT DO TO OWN ONE!!!
Tinya looks FANTASTIC, as did Jeckie before her. BEAUTIFUL!
Posted by MLLASH on :
hmmm... I don't remember seeing the Light Lass one... must search...
Posted by Healex on :
Lashy....she was in the post at the bottom of Projectra's. I thought I'd start a new one for Phantom Girl.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
What's the latest, Healex?
Posted by Healex on :
My customizer is working on the next one now. This one is a total repaint of the face and re-rooting of the hair, so it's taking a bit longer than usual. She is keeping me updated. Hopefully sometime this week, she'll send me the prelim pics.
Posted by MLLASH on :
ohmigawd, I *LOVE* that! (this is my first time to see the Ayla doll!)
I wanna come over and play with them!
Posted by Healex on :

And here she is with the other Legion Ladies.
I hope you all enjoy!

This is nice. But, I hope you don't mind if I combine all of these threads.
It helps us behind-the-scenes to maintain the files and helps everyone else not have to navigate through multiple topics to see/discuss one subject.

say, where did you get those stands?!? I have been looking for those for my DC Direct figures.
Posted by Caliente on :
Wow. I think Shadow Lass might be my favorite! Fabulous.
Posted by Healex on :
Guys I want to thank Nghtcrawler for putting this all together. I never realized how many posts had been done about my dolls. Dream Girl is the next one. The woman that is making the costumes for me, I'm taking pity on. You see she is the one that re-did the Shadow Lass. She was a total re-paint and re-root of the hair. Here is what the doll looked like originally.
I want to thank you all for the support.

Very nice Shady Healex. Definitely my favorite.
Posted by superboymddjr on :
any chance of you may make Infectious Lass after Dream Girl?
Posted by Healex on :
Infectous Lass is down the way I'm afraid. Thou I should have her made in the next few months. Gotta find the right material for her outfit.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Can't wait for the Dream Doll!!!
Posted by knowjack on :
oh, how i covet.
Posted by Healex on :
Hello Guys, It's now time for the 5th one in the series. I bet you all thought I'd stopped having these girls done. Not at all... so Drum Roll Please.... Nura
Still Sexy
Full view
enjoy!
Posted by Dain on :
Oh, she's marvellous, Healex!! Wow! They're real treasures, all of them!
Posted by Healex on :
Ok Guys, I have the outfit for the next one. Just got to get the doll dressed and all. My seamstress had a nervous breakdown trying to make this outfit. HAHAHAHA. Its DawnStar and she couldn't get the chest or sidestraps to go right. So to save her sanity, I told her not to worry about the straps and make it without the straps. I'll have the pictures on in the next few days.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Hey, I forgot to comment on the Dream Doll!
Well, of course she's beautiful! I kinda wish she had a bit of hair spilling across her forehead, but the all pushed back look is good, too. The costume is excellent.
Looking forward to Dawny now! Too bad those straps turned into such a challenge. I won't even try to make suggestions. I have no idea what the process is like. I'm curious to see the wings, for sure.
Thank you for sharing these!
Posted by Healex on :
OK Guys... Give me you best shot. I know Dawny's costume isn't perfect, but what can I say. Also the Supergirl is made by Tonner, just the way you see her here. I haven't done anything to it.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
What a great collection! Must be fun. (Yeah, I'm a 40-something year old, straight, married father and I like the dollies! Hey, it's an art thing for me. And a Legion thing. You gotta problem fanboy?)
I'll be honest about Dawny. The wings are just okay, not amazing. I'd prefer to see her hair straightened instead of those rolling curls and the headband isn't at all like hers.
Aw, I'm sorry if that's nitpicky. Really, they're so well done, overall.
Thank you for sharing them.
Posted by MLLASH on :
I SOOOOOOOOOOO wanna play with those dolls!!!
Posted by Healex on :
Sketch, I agree with you. I bought the wings off the net and I need to get bigger ones. I was guessing on the size. I'm also going to be playing the the headband myself. If I can't get that right I'm just going to go with the star on the forehead.
Posted by superboymddjr on :
maybe you can try taking the wings off either Hawkman or Hawkgirl and re-paint them in white then attach it to Dawnstar? think it helps?
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
I was curious about what it would take to create wings for a doll, and did some searching. This tutorial looked interesting to me, though the wings are for a real person to wear. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-pair-of-Angel-Wings Posted by Healex on :

Superboymddjr...it might work if they were the same scale, but these dolls are 16 inches tall. I'm sure I can get 12inch wings. Those are 8 inches long.
