Quislet, Esq. presents a fantastic idea (based on discussion in the election threads)....
TOP HAT COMPETITION!
So, which hat in Legion history do you think should be tossed into the ring?
Calamity King's nelly cap? Mordru's fez?
This challenge will be a bit different than typical pinup model competitions.
When a good handful of hats have been nominated (5? 6? 7?) they will be modelled by a still to be determined Legion Lovely. Votes will be cast to pick the favorite 2. Then, those 2 hats will battle it out for the TOP HAT title!
Mordru's fez Mano's helmet Calamity King's nelly cap Dawnstar's tiara/headband Lois Lane's pillbox hat Kid Psycho's turban Polar Boy's fur cap
-------------------- Five billion years from now the Sun will go nova and obliterate the Earth. Don't sweat the small stuff!

Jillikers! Could this entire competition be part of a secret plan to get Fat Cramer's hat elected LMB Leader?

I nominate Shadow Lass' tuning-fork-strapped-to-her-forehead headdress worn with her Cockrum/Grell costume.
And The Master's beehive-like helmet (or was that his head?)
Invisible Kid's headband.
Sun Woman's sun-disc-behind-her-head. (I think her name was Sun Woman-- she was a villainess queen on a planet in the Adventure era.)

Okay, that should be enough nominations... please pick your top ten! They will become the semi-finalists, from which we will choose our top 2, from which we will pick our TOP HAT!

I may have incorrectly characterized this. I was looking at the Legion Outpost book (page 137) and saw a Giff design of Jecks (and Val!) where she's wearing a headdress with this design. It's quite possible that this is worn by the monarch of Orando to preside over certain occasions, including high funerals. (When combined with a black draping, of course, it indicates mourning.) Take a look at her coronation pic in LSH 288...the item about to be placed on her head is bigger, but has a similar motif. (Presumably it was her father's, but I don't have the right issues to verify.)
Too late to nominate, but while digging around for Jecks pics I found that Yera-n-Gim hat scene I remembered but couldn't place: it's in the first Baxter issue.
