I'm going to post a few pieces of work that I've done for charity auctions. The first is a new one that I've done for the Just 1 Page auction that's going to take place at the Brighton Comic Expo in a couple of weeks.

Next is a piece I did for the Just 1 Page comic (#3) that was done for the Con in Bristol earlier this year. The theme was Crossovers and obviously this is my version of how the Storm vs Wonder Woman fight from DC vs Marvel *should* have gone down if it weren't for foolish marvel zombie votes.

Thirdly the piece that I did for Just 1 Page #2 last year. It's just a pencil piece (not quite a sketch but not quite a full finished version either) hence the not terribly good quality of the scan. I had to darken it a lot for it to show up properly. I think Joe from the GLA owns this one.

And then finally the other Top Trump card I did, which I think Beagz owns (or possibly ash. Ooh, I'm bad at remembering. I was meant to send some preliminary sketches for this one as well and I've never gotten round to it. Bad me).

Your art is gorgeous Bevis - particularly love the WW vs Storm page, funny and gorgeous!

Thanking you kindly Harvi. I was particularly pleased with the way that WW/Storm page turned out. It went through quite a number of different versions before I settled on that one. Originally the page was going to be laid out with the small panels running along the top and then a big panel with WW actually holding Storm on the bottom. Then it switched so the small panels were pretty much as they appear there but with the big panel being a full body shot of WW holding Storm. It just didn't look right though so in the end I decided to do just a head shot of WW and it worked perfectly.
By the way, for anyone interested all of the above pictures (apart from the Jenny Sparks one of course) were done with regular ink, watercolour washes for base colours and then watercolour pencils for the detailed colour, hence the hatched quality of the colours. That's probably most obvious on the Joker picture (which is also the best quality scan btw) but you can see it on the other ones.
Oh, and anyone recognise who Ivy is based on?

If it helps, Joker and Black Canary look great here, but they look even better in person.

Your Ivy is simply gorgeous; I love the illusion of paleness you created with your minimalist colors, which of course proved the perfect contrast to our brooding Dark Knight. On what material were they done... watercolour paper? Your backgrounds look great (always my achilles heel...), espescially the one with Dinah. More! More!

All of them apart from the Jenny Sparks one (which is just regular pencil on cartridge paper) are done on Bristol Board (the same stuff most professional comics are drawn on). I ink the outlines and the solid blacks, then do watercolour washes (including any areas that actually need to be white), then use watercolour pencils on top and then finally reink the blacks.
