I love them both, right down to the lettering of their names.

I've got ideas for this month, but need a bit of time to draw. In the meantime, reposts of what I've done in the past.

Here's a new little project I've started...the Legion of PinUp Dolls! I'm taking inspiration from Vargas, which was also done last week on Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model." These are my typical rough sketch quality, though I really do want to cleanly ink these and do high quality colors on them. I want to include all the Legion girls. I have a few more sketched that I need to finish.

Here's a couple of my earlier works...
And an applicable limerick I wrote not too long ago for another thread around here somewhere...
"You're disgusting, wretched, and sick!" Came out of Shady's mouth quick. But no one could harm her Thanks to her crotch armor And the darkness around her was thick.

It's been too long since I've visited that thread. I'm so glad Cobie picked up my Tatiana and ran with her. I really should sit down and read what the story has become.
I did go peek a bit and saw her in action against the Empress on page 14 of the thread. Woo hoo!

Woo! Suncat that's beautiful! That's my very favorite period for Andy, thank you SO much for drawing her in her "Valor-Girl" outfit.
Sweet!

Oh, I was SO hoping someone would use the "Valor-Girl" outfit, I love it too. Very nice, thank you!
And Dean: amazing as ever!

You're very welcome, and to MLLASH too. I wish we could have seen more of her in the books in that costume. Oh well, I guess we'll have to draw them.
And thank you for sharing the Adam Hughes pic. Your colors? And the cartoon of Laurel and Kara is fitting.

Did another sketch that I liked, so I through some color on it...

That's a brand new sketch, done in my Holo Models format. She was a semi-finalist in the Return of the Pinup Model contest, but never got a face close up shot. I quite like it, IIDSSM!

I wanted to add her here, since someone may not go to the poster thread but come here instead. Model's name is Laura from cycle 13 of ANTM.

Everyone seems to hate the full bodysuit Shady wore in the 80's, but that's my favourite costume of hers (or pretty much any of the Legion next to Star Boy's starfield). I just think there's something really elegant about it. I don't love this image so much, but have been playing around with re-designs based on that bodysuit..

Well goldamm that's annoying.....I will try it from my flickr site, sorry peeps! It was there after I posted it initially!
Posted by Candle on :
I liked it pretty well, the body suit.
Especially your version with the side strip and partial gloves!
The suit with the collar works okay for the non-physical fighting version of Tasmia, just not the one who flies under her own steam like Umbra and the 3boot Shady!
(Thanks for fixing the connection.)

wanted to add a Laurel Gand/Andromeda poster from the motivational thread. Laura is my Laurel model from ANTM.
Posted by Candle on :
This is a Tyra shot of Fatima, the perfect Tasmia.

I found all of my little pictures in big form! The photographer is Michael Rosenthal.

The reason why I never comment on these things is because I feel saying stuff like "good" doesn't do it enough justice. I don't know proper drawing, inking, coloring, or photography terms to illustrate a proper response.
Posted by Candle on :
Well, me neither, most of the time!
Just so you, and others, get some Legion joy out of things, that's the point of doing and sharing. Like your writing!

A new Andromeda look and possible approach:
Lauren photoed by Russel James Thornter.
Posted by Candle on :
I liked playing with this Tyra shot.
Tasmia is intense in look and color as she slowly emerges from the shadows and mists that surround her.
I changed the picture for this post - Arachne's and SK's comments are about an image I changed to a Black Orchid poster on the Vertigo thread here. sorry for any confusion

Nice work, especially on the second one.

Laurel could hardly believe what her enhanced Daxamite vision was seeing-- a Khundish battleship closing in on Daxam?
She had tolerated with good humour the public knowing her better as "Valor Girl" than her actual chosen code-name of "Andromeda"... but now it was time to remind the Khunds why they referred to her as "Satan Girl"!

I was inspired by Sketch's Tyra/Tasmia manipulation. In the past, I've usually seen Tas as a Halle Berry type, but Tyra is very dramatic as Umbra, who I find to be the most wonderful of the Shadow Casters!
Photo is of Tyra Banks, of course.

Umbra, again, using a different model - Kate Beckinsale. I'm not sure if that's how her name is spelled but that was the only captioning at the site where I got the photo. The photo is exactly how I found it, too!
Posted by Candle on :
I've thought in the past that I'd like to see Tasmia's 'blueness' come from tatoos rather than just have it be her skin color. Or perhaps black tatooing over the blue skin.
ANYWAY, I think this picture presents the idea I'm getting at nicely:
I think the by is incorrect, but I can't read the names or even if there ARE names. I'll do more research and just identify this one the same as the others, CV1ARFWWH1

Here's Tasmia really movin'!

I was recently looking for .REBELS covers and ran across this one from Action #876. The subject was Ursa but it reminded me of Umbra from the Legends cover by Lightle. So, using Ursa as the foundation, I altered the face and uniform into something that I'd like to see on Tasmia. The facial features and shading are quite different in subtle ways, as is the uniform. I debated giving her pants, rather than her usual thong, which I didn't mind that much on Umbra. I decided to go covered up, since I'm protesting her current horribly objectifying look.
Then, I saw the Legion recover contest results and was tickled to see the Lightle cover there, too.
