We love brand new submissions (stories, poems, prose, novels, artwork, action figures, statues, busts, micros, etchings, etc.) but we certainly want your existing work posted in the galleries too! Come join us all month long starting February 1st for Cupid's Party!

Speaking of Dawny and Drake, here's something I did awhile ago:
And here's an old one of Jo and Tinya:
I'll have some new stuff too later...
Posted by Greybird on :
My one long-ish Legion fanfic story features Dawny and Mon-el, with fanart works from several talented people. (Most of them created for an art challenge, one for the story.)
One of those works, by Dean Lee ...

I like the sketch, Kevin, it has a quiet grace to it, and the jagged feather edges break light to echo her frustration in her right fist. (Did you recast Drake as "Wildstar"? Same "last" names for the couple?) And DrakeB's stylized color piece has been one of my favorites.
She often longs to touch a face, doesn't she? Tristan und Isolde, I tell you.

I haven't had a chance to do anything new, so I'm dusting off some oldies I had. They've all been seen before, but perhaps not lately
Posted by Loser Lad on :
I've got nothing new at the moment either, but I do have a couple to repost (all colored by me of course)...
Mon & Shady by Jeff Moy
Element Lad and Shvaughn Erin by Steve Lightle
Dreamer and Star Boy by Tony Scott
And a Legion Couple that never was (but maybe should have been?), Colossal Boy and Shrinking Violet by Jeff Moy
Posted by Loser Lad on :
I just finished coloring this one for Kat's Tom Burgos Challenge, and it fits the theme, so I'll cross post it here.
Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad by Tom Burgos.
Posted by Reboot on :
Just coloured this (can't make out the sig... Moy and someone?)

Thanks, yeah - I just drew that one.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
I *used* to like Drake!
Well, art is supposed to make one think...
I think those are terrific drawings...
So, here's one I made for this exhibit, all in Photoshop, no original linework...
Posted by knowjack on :
Here's an old Mon & Shady I did for an old Yahoo Legion group--it's been through many versions, so the quality's a little lacking.

Well, then I guess you ought to check out my Gallery a bit more Scott! That one was posted in there months ago. And thanks for the compliment! I always loved Lightle's take on those two. With Steve drawing them they were one of the hottest Legion couples ever!

This was done by a friend of mine, Christian, a couple of years ago for Caroline and myself. He still posts quite regularly to LegionPics. Just wish I could get him to post here.
Posted by dedman on :
Thats a very well done pic you've posted scott. your friend christian is quite talented
Posted by Lightning Lad on :
Thanks deddy. He's actually been working on a 'comic' that he submits page by page to LegionPics. He's up to 34 pages now I think. Pretty interesting story and decent art.
If I can't convince him to get over here and post I'll have to do it for him.

A Sketch Lad(line art)/Loser Lad(color art) production....
Thanks Loser Lad, for both coloring and hosting this image.
Posted by dedman on :
Great work dean, excellent depiction of light lass (who seems so rare in fan art) and my favorite version of T-wolf. Loser's colours look great as usual, nice and vibrant!!!
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Thanks, dedster! I agree that Loser Lad's colors really bring this to life. Heh, you've made me want to start a "Light Lass" thread. I know I've done lots of pictures of her.
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
It's great to see some more finished art from you Dean! Light Lass had a cool costume + that's also my fav version of Brin = super-cool drawing
Posted by Princess Crujectra on :
This is coming late, but I had the hardest time getting this done. I'm not completely happy with it, but it's like my fifth attempt at it, and I don't feel like trying again
Posted by Vee on :
Great pics all! Sorry I didn't have time to get one together for this month's gallery. I may still try to do one (I wanted to contribute a Lyle/Condo pair and another surpise pairing) If I find the time I still will.
Dean, I really love that sketch of Mon and Shady!

Here's one that Frog Kid posted a while back. Finally had an occasion to clean it up and color it.

Brian (suddenly feeling quite humbled...)

Gina, I love these! The Imra/Garth one is sexy and sweet, and I really like the XS/Cos pic.

Posted by Luna on :
Gina that pic is faboo, such a serene face on XS.
Posted by Greybird on :
I'm a little late to say so, but the emotion expressed through linework here is superb. Gina, that's a subtle talent you're showing, more than is usually possible in the printed comics.

Thank you, Greybird. :Vi:

And because it's Valentine's Day again... Posted by Cobalt Kid on :
Heart-breaking Drake. This might be my favorite one you've ever done, and I love your artwork. I can feel the raw emotion emanating out of that pic.
It reminds me that I love those two characters
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Beautiful drawing, Drake! Makes me wish Dawnstar and Wildfire were still card carrying members of the Legion!
Posted by Greybird on :
That's a keeper on any day, Drake, not just Valentine's Day. Quite moving and unabashedly emotional, as it should be.
I was reminded by their embrace that although many readers (including Dawny, at times as written) despaired at their not being able to touch, Wildfire could share the shape and contours of a human being through his suit. That can matter almost as much.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
I always wondered about how he mananged to keep his form in the shape of a muscular man. It was shown many times that his empty suit was just limp material, there didn't seem to be any hard forms in it to give it that structure. It must not have been too difficult for him to keep that shape, because he always did, even when using his powers offensively.
I wonder if he was squishy!
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
I always imagined the fabric of his suit was programed to give his body that shape when filled - kinda like that material in "Batman Begins" where it becomes solid when introduced to a power source (his anti-energy in this case)
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
Believe it or not, I never saw Batman Begins! The dvd has even been rented and spent time in my house, but I never had the chance to sit and watch it!!!
Anyway, your explanation is what I would think too, Drake. In fact, did they ever address this in his origin issue (way back in V2)?
Posted by DrakeB3004 on :
In the issue where he comes back from "death", he says: "Once I re-enter it, the uniform will automatically formulate my raw energy to take a human shape again!"
So I guess his body actually takes on a human form (like Quislet taught him), but he needs the suit to do it.

Bumped for another Valentine's Day!

If I find this in a larger size, I'll redo the poster, I promise. Well, I found a bigger one!
Photo from ANTM cycle 8, the model, female, is Jaslene and the photographer is Tyra.

Blok and Mysa from the Hampyverse, now a romantic couple in the retroboot!
Blok is the bigger bunny, of course. And the White/Black Witch really equals the Grey Witch, I think.

all Gene artworks were based in 2000? wow...he could have drawn some DC or Marvel books during that time...it reminds me of early Scott Kollins artwork in the Flash, written by Geoff Johns. Loved those backgrounds behind the Legionnaires.
Is he still working on art? or what happened to him?
Note: Cosmic Boy's costume? yuck , much prefer him to wear the all famous black corset so it matches to Night Girl's sexy costume!
Colossal Boy? Should be Duplicate Boy. If it was Yera sitting on his shoulder - then no problem.
Posted by Lone Wolf Legionnaire on :
Oops almost forgot this one.

And one for the lonely
I don't think he did one of Blok and the White Witch or Tenzil,Tyroc,Jacques and Ferro Lad.
Posted by superboymddjr on :
Chemical King --- I always felt that he was the one who was secretly admiring Invisible Kid or Brainiac 5....
too bad that Gene did not do Vi - Ayla.
Posted by Lone Wolf Legionnaire on :
I believe that is Violet and not Yera, notice Gim's Grell costume,I think he was going by memory and forgot about Duplicate Boy and remembered Gim's crush on Vi.
Gene's got a blog where he does visit the Legionnaires quite often.
thanks LWL! especially Gene's drawing a lot of Legionnaires....both couples and individually....love the one with Princess Projectra and Validus behind her charging....Timber Wolf looks nice with green background....so many Legionnaire displays. how come i never heard of him before? He mentioned that he used to work for DC comics...but which one did he use to work on? I like his artwork - very light, crispy, nice!
awesome.
Posted by Candle on :
Where did you find these? I checked out the address and other then a very few singleton Legionnaires, I didn't see any of these. sigh
Thanks for posting them since he has a very nice feel for the Legion characters of old!

I may try to make this a non-glitter picture/poster for the upcoming Jan Arrah museum month, but for now, here's a truly beautiful version of Jan and Shvaughn from the Camelot idea of the Legion:
A new couple that's been suggested on the boards since Levitz has been screwing Legion lives around:
Tyson and Nicole from season 2 of MMaSM on Bravo.
Posted by Sketch Lad on :
I see it more as Troy and Dawnstar!
Posted by Candlelight on :
Well, I have 2 points of reservation: 1. the model looks just like the Grell version of Lydda in A Death Stroke at Dawn and 2. I try to use Indian female models for Dawnstar, and I don't think Nicole is American Indian.
But, it's you, so I'm working on a Tyroc/Dawnstar version of this couple, too.

second try, sigh
