Some of the posts are reading 1st April, though I know it to be the 31st March. Don't tell me - the clock didn't remember that it's a leap year and missed out the 29th of Feb? So, since it's officially 1st of April on Legionworld, is it okay for everyone to post?

It's very 3D! Nice! Posted by minesurfer on :
My contribution to the Mano wing. Hey it's art, I had to paint it, and when paint is involved its art.

Very cool contributions so far! A nice variety of creative types. Looking forward to seeing more art and stories!

Well it IS April 1st (in the future) so I guess that's cool:
I believe the subtitle of this gallery wing should be "Talk To the Hand Cause the Mano Don't Wanna Hear It!"

Oh and just so we don't have an all-art not writing exhibit, here's a Mano haiku: Mano sadly looks Hand destructively burning As he picks his nose

Its awesome to see all your different styles! Rokk on!

Very cool manip, M-E Lad! I have a great deal of respect for you photo manipulators. I've tried it in the past, and it just looks like I used magic markers to draw in a new set of clothes on someone... very fake looking. My hat's off to those of you that can make it look so natural

Great pics all around.
And a song for Mano: Oh yeah, I’ll tell you something, I think you’ll understand. When I’ll say that something I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand.
Oh please, say to me You’ll let me be your man And please, say to me You’ll let me hold your hand. Now let me hold your hand, I want to hold your hand.
And when I touch you I feel happy inside. It’s such a feeling that my love I can’t hide, I can’t hide, I can’t hide.
Yeah, you’ve got that something, I think you’ll understand. When I’ll say that something I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand.
And when I touch you I feel happy inside. It’s such a feeling that my love I can’t hide, I can’t hide, I can’t hide.
Yeh, you’ve got that something, I think you’ll understand. When I’ll feel that something I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand, I want to hold your hand.
Thank you Paul McCartney and John Lennon

The Smartest of the Fatal Five :
The always said he was the weakest of all the Fatal Five but by the end of TMK he was one of only two left alive
So forget Tharok and Sarya and Validus too Cuz Mano was smart enough to stay alive although if you meet him--I can't say the same for you

Really cool stuff so far! This is pretty damn cool !
Posted by Fat Cramer on :
There once was a villain named Mano Who loved an Italian soprano Her music he lauded But when he applauded He flattened the town of Milano.
(I believe this is the first limerick to grace the boards of Legion World.)
Posted by Harbinger on :
Encore! Encore!
Posted by Nightcrawler on :
Wow! You guys are good! Let's keep the poems, songs, limericks, and art going! Let's hear some stories about him too!
Posted by Cobalt Kid on :
On his hand you will find great power, Today his greatness stands tall as a tower, Not to make this too quick, This second limerick, But I've got class in less than an hour!

Very Nice! I like your take on him in the headshot, Drake. Beautiful!
And very funny! (Which came first, Mano or Mysterio?)
And Vee, who knew Mano was sexy?
Posted by Monkey Eater Lad on :
Vee the 70s pop art feel is groovy! Oh and thanks Spellbinder, glad you like it
Posted by Harbinger on :
Before he reached down he thought he would regret it.
He didn't. Mano felt the substance below his dangerous hand start to disintegrate and he knew with a total certainty that this time he wouldn’t want to stop the feeling. Oh no, this time he would allow himself the luxury of letting it run it’s true course. Mano could feel the sub atomic particles that made up the over polluted hell of Angtu break from their electron prisons and start to float free.
The sensation was like nothing he would have imagined or in fact ever feel again!
Every.
Single.
Broken.
Bond.
Felt.
Unique Good Fantastic!!
His heart beats faster until it feels to Mano as if a large steel drum is playing in his chest. His pulse is a painful physical force within his body.
And his.
Breathing.
...
Becomes.
... ... Ragged.
... ...
...............................
The feedback that would assail him over the next four hours as the small planet dissipated to the solar winds was far, far more than the young mutant could have ever imagined. For a few eternal moments his upbringing that had led him to be a profound believer in the Post Modernist Agnosticism Movement was forgotten and he truly believed in a Higher Purpose. He felt, through the glowing disc upon his hand, as if he was in contact with True Divinity.
His eyes stream water and he cries out as he arches his back in the timeless movement of final release of pleasure.
He has allowed it to happen. He had created the chaos rhythm that led to this, the most final of freedoms. Mano had caused the planet to achieve its’ ultimate destiny. He thinks as he fades into unconsciousness that surely one day ballads will be written about what he has just done.

Wow! Harbinger, that's great!
There's such a range of talent displayed here. It's really amazing! The poetry is inspired (and funny!) And the artwork is terrific!
Thanks to everyone for spending time doing these. Hopefully we can have these exhibits regularly.

Wow, indeed! That is a nice, fresh perspective on Mano, 'binger!

I would if you could draw it Gary!

Mano got a lot more love than I expected - and in so many different formats too. Do we have any more Mano masterpieces to add?
Posted by Varalent on :
Thanks everyone! I don't think mine compares to some of the others posted but I appreciate the kind words.
So....who's next? Have we got a decision yet? I need all the time possible in order to get something adequate done!
Posted by DrakeB3003 on :
I had wanted to wait til the entries were all in before commenting, but I think we did a great job on the innaugural Gallery opening! Kudos to M-E Lad for creating it! I never woulda thought it'd be for Mano of all people, but it was great to see the various interpretations of him especially since he doesn't usually get so much concentrated effort. Specifically: Gary -- great drawing! I'm surprised we haven't seen more from you before (though I hope we'll see more art in the future!) I like the off-set, bisected rectangle design in the background where the "break" intersects the disk on the Mano hand symbol -- nice touch. Cru -- like the new color scheme for Mano and the malevolent lettering for his name -- very evil! minesurfer -- painting is indeed art! It's like being a colorist for a book except it's a 3D figure -- well done! the globe helmet actually looks cool in "real life". Numf El -- certainly the most original piece and one of the most compelling as well! Very Bill Seinkevicz meets Lite-Brite! (that's a good thing) M-E Lad -- awesome! I can't believe you managed to almost duplicate that Legionnaires cover! great background and the "Mano" lettering is way cool bro! (neat haiku as well) Cobalt Kid -- nice ode to Mano. Good point too about his longevity. (as well as a hastily dashed off limerick!) Fat Cramer -- lol ... great limerick! Milano, soprano ... very creative. Vee -- I really like the effect you used on the photo -- very cool how it almost looks like it could be a drawing! Harbinger -- beautiful! Totally gives Mano a new dimension and complexity I don't think has been touched upon before -- bravo!
I think that's everyone -- I look forward to seeing what you talented people have in store for us May 1st for the opening of the TIMBERWOLF wing!

God Damm thats good whats the recepie?
Posted by minesurfer on :
Thanks...
The recipe is as follows:
Take one Corsair from the 5" X-Men line of the 1990's... boil and pop his head. You could substitute a Super Skrull sans head from the same line too.
Add the head of one X-Man (Nate Grey? from the Marvel's Most Wanted line of the same era)... if you're like me you have a few of these just laying around. I knew I was making Mano so I prepared the head well in advance. But really... just about any non-distinct head will do.
The Orb for his head came from the accessory that accompanied the old Dr. Strange 5" figure from the Animated Spidey Line of the 1990s. The knee pads are from the fore-mentioned X-Man figure... the sword is from the armory... holster is from an Flip n Trap Red Skull... and the belt is elastic from any craft store, colored with felt markers for effect.
Put the ingredients into a blender and let it sit for five minutes. Don't turn the blender on... just let them sit. Now that that is done, add the right paint in the right spots... and Mano.
