Don't be too harsh - I don't normally write fanfics, I just typed this to get the scenario out of my head...

[Roughly diverges between Legion 16 & 17]

---------------------------

It all started with another row between Tinya and Jo. Since hids return, they may have been reunited in body, but not in spirit. Now, since he had first set eyes on her, Brin had carried a torch for her. Now, she fanned its flame.

Whether, of its own accord, anything would have come of it, non an say. If Jo hadn't let his mind wander, and accidentely activated his ultra-hearing, we may have found out. As it was, he heard her gasp in a way she reserved for the bedroom. Switching to his pentra-vision, dreading what he may see, he saw her nakedly clamped about Brin, head tossing as if in a tempest, his manhod clearly buried within her.

Ultra-speed and ultra-strength brought him to their quarters, but did nothing to quell the fury which followed, As Brin sat aghast, things were said that could not easily be taken back, and a marriage effectively ended that night.

As she left to join Brin, and he watched another man act as father to his child his mind drifted to thoughts of the team's founder, Imra. Unfifilled since the loss of her true love, she opened her body to him, but not her mind or heart.

A short time into this liason, she confided to Ayla, the woman who would have been her sister-in-law, her unhappiness at the emptiness of the relationship, despite her unwillingness to take it further - believing she could not truly love another man as she had Garth. To which Ayla replied:

"Do you remember what you said the first day I met you, as I came in to save you from Jo - how machismo ran in the Ranzz family?" At which she pulled Imra in and kissed her, momentarily passing a slight current through Imra to paralyse her resistance. When Imra finally pulled away, she coughed and asked Ayla "What...?" but Ayla responded by gently shhhing her, and kissing her magain - more tenderly this time and without the current, yet with a Spark that after a few seconds hesistation, led Imra to return the kiss.

She watched Ayla remove both her costume and what lay beneath intently, then allowed herself to be disrobed as Ayla's nimble hands travelled lightly over her body. In what followed, nothing was the same as with Garth, yet, as her pleasure rose it all felt so familiar... and after the climax of their mutual passion, they fell asleep in each others' arms, to awake together with their bodies intertwined.

After that day, though the temple to Garth within her heart remained strong, with foundations as deep as ever, a new one, signifying the continuance of the love between the Ranzz and Ardeen families, arose beside it, to in time become as strong as the first.

I wasn't going to reply (you can take that as a "no more planned" Hbgr), but the "Jackie Collins" bit went straight over my head. Care to explain Matt?

Always knew Tinya was the real shameless hussy... [Wink]

I thought this was a great short story SoM; this is the first Ayla-Imra relationship I've read and can't believe it hasn't been done before! So logical! Why wouldn't Ayla have many of the traits which attracted Imra to Garth? And Ayla does "take the bull by the horns", she's a go-getter and I can imagine (now that you've suggested it) that she would make the first move with Imra.

I think you should continue, too!

Well, not only did you write an evocative vignette, but I see that Keith Giffen has already illustrated it for you ...
