A list of ideas I came up with for like, alternate reality Legionnaire pin-ups, like they had in Legion of Super-Heroes #100, and I'd like some feedback and suggestions, please.
Princess Phoenix: Projectra as the Phoenix Force's host. This would be her Threeboot incarnation, given the new spin that Jim Shooter gave on her powers, giving her the ability to tap into the backbrain, or id, of individuals, and gaining new strength and senses from the leftover ids of all those who died on Orando. Imagine it, a spoiled, vengeance-minded princess, now the avatar for the personification of psychic energy. Why stop at destroying the United Planets and the Legion, when she can destroy the universe. And why should she stop at that as well?
Thom the Barbarian: Star Boy as barbarian hero with Dream Girl as concubine. A dungeons & dragons spin on Thom's Pre-Crisis, older counterpart, wearing a loincloth matching his star field outfit, and a sword that can cut through gravity, while also reeling from the memories of the first person he killed in self defense. Although someone suggested against the idea of Nura as a concubine, and Thom being a meak, mild-mannered barabarian. I think that works.
Ally the Werewolf Hunter: Lightning Lass as Buffy-style werewolf hunter with TW as her 'Angel'. Ally watched her older sibling and twin brother murdered by a pack of werewolves when she was little, and ever since she's been a delinquent. Years later she learns that she is the "Anointed", to wipe out werewolves. Shrinking Violet's her Willow, and Brainy's her Giles.
Phantom Girl and her emerald dragon, Jo: Tinya in a white-Shadowcat outfit with Jo as Lockheed, a little dragon with a hoop earring. Inspired from a picture of an alternate Shadowcat who wore a blue version of Tinya's uniform.
Teen Legion: If the Legion started in the 21st Century and the Teen Titans in the 31st.
Morningstar: Dawnstar in colonial America. From the same colonial-era universe I had imagined with versions of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, Dawny would be an aid, partner, or sidekick towards this world's Wonder Woman. She gained her wings and powers when she was blessed by the native Gods her tribe worshiped, before the white man tried to wipe them out for being "sinners".
Live Wires: Legion as punk grunge rock band.
Lydda, Mistress of the Dark: Lydda in an Elvira role, the host of a horror comic. Delivering jokes and narrating stories alongside Konk, the floating head living inside her crystal ball. I mean, Lydda's already got the hair for it.
Mirror, Mirror Monstress: Monstress is "normal" and everyone else looks like the Hulk. This can also be used for a Legionnaire power-switch issue, with Monstress gaining someone else's power and they getting the Hulk treatment in return.
The Invisible Kid: Lyle as one of those direct-to-video kid's movies from the 1990s as a boy who turns invisible. You know, he tries to make it for the science fair, tests it on himself, then decides to mess around, not realizing he can't change back yet. Of course it involves the girl, or boy, he's got a crush on, helping his parents fix their marriage, screwing around with the local bully, and messing up some thugs, yadda yadda yadda...
Lover's Lane: Jo and Tinya as the lovers in the infamous "Hook" urban legend. This doesn't have to necessarily be an alternate reality, just a dream, or nightmare, or it really could happen.
Sumo Timber Wolf: Kinda self-explanatory, though 3Boot style Brin would work best. Same wild hair, clawed hands, toeless boots, and somewhat psychotic disposition. Only, y'know, fat, now with a bulky physique to go with his strength and to add an unexpected bonus to his agility, turning him into a three-hundred pound, rampaging berserker with the acrobatic skills of Batman. Also kind of my way of evening things out after what I did to Jo in the try-out fics.
Nightmare on Naltor Avenue: Dream Girl against Freddy Krueger. Something of a crossover, actually, with Krueger attempting to infiltrate Nura's mind, making it the first time he's ever invaded someone's mind with the power to see the future. What kind of effect could it have on tomorrow?
Lightning Siblings: Garth as 1940s style Indiana Jones explorer and Ayla as "good girl" secret agent, inspired from a JLA story written by Grant Morrison, the two go up against their albino older brother, an agent for the Axis, and his girlfriend, an esper who gained psychic abilities from alien tissue implants.
Emerald Dragon: Ultra Boy as a 1930s pulp comics hero, who frequently fights a femme fatale named the Spider. He dates socialite Tina Wallace, not knowing she's also a hero, the Apparition.
The Alchemist: Inspired from the Elseworlds JSA: The Liberty Files, where in the 1940s the heroes work for the government under names such as "The Bat", "The Clock", "The Tornado", "The Star". This one is Jan.
The Gardner: Chlorophyll Kid under Liberty Files heading, I wanted the name to still sound dumb since he's a Sub.
The Shadow: Yes. Shadow Lass.
The Esper: Esper Lass. I wanted to throw a villain in there.
School Spirit: Featuring Rainbow Girl as a student in a secluded, haunted boarding school.
Ferro Lass: Female Ferro Lad from the gender-reversed earth.
The White Witch: She's indeed white, from a Nazi-variation of the Legion called the Axis of Super-Heroes, from the world of Earth-10. Inspired by today's recent issue of Justice Society of America.
Super Wolf: Based on one of the alternate Supermen from Final Crisis. Kal-El if he'd been raised by the Londos, an amalgamtion of Timber Wolf and Superman, with Marella Tao as his Lois Lane.
Dr. Doxenstein: Brainy as Dr. Frankenstein, Lyle as his hunchbacked servant, Jo is the Monster, and an amalgamation of Nura, Andromeda, and Kara as Elizabeth.

Starlightning Lass: A combination of Star Boy and Lightning Lass, thereby combining the concept of Ayla's lightning and gravity nullifying abilities.
The Bandage Twins: From a Vertigo-DC amalgamation, the combo of Lightning Lad and Lightning Lass with George and Marion, the Bandage People from Doom Patrol. A pair of twins who had their bodies stolen, and turned into pure electricity, their forms kept by being wrapped in bandages.
Sensoress: A version of Sensor that is actual a siren/mermaid.
Lodestone Lass: Lodestone, from the Doom Patrol, as a member of the Legion.
The Incredible Burning Man: Inspired from a 1960s movie "The Incredible Melting Man", Dirk Morgna is an astornaut who, exposed to some weird, space radiation, is now slowly burning alive.
Violet and the Beanstalk: Violet is Jack, well, Jaclyn, and Colossal Boy is the Giant. Ayla can play the role of the Harp, and Gates is the Golden Goose, Insect, Bug, whatever.
Unfinished Aria: Based on an idea for an Elseworlds, Brin's feral side is the Phantom of the Opera, Aria Campbell, a.k.a. Gemini, is Christine, and Brin's more human side is Raoul.
Legion of the Bat: Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, and Lightning Lad are inspired by Batman instead of Superman.
The Blok: Blok is cast as the Golem from the infamous 1920s silent film.

Legion of Street-Fighters: They have a member called Karate Kid, for God's sake this crossover/re-imagining is PERFECT. Val is Ryu, and Brin is Ken.
Legion of Stepford Wives: The girl Legionnaires are robot housewives, and it's up to Monstress to save them. Or survive, whichever comes first.
Little Shop of Horrors Legion: Brainy is Seymour, Dream Girl is Audrey, Jo's that insane biker dentist, R.J. Brande is the proprietor of the flower shop Brainy and Nura work at, and the Triplicates are the Chorus Girls Crystal, Ronette, and Chiffon. And Audrey II will be played by Audrey II.
The Spider Woman: Spider Girl is re-imagined in the vein of the 1960s horror film the Wasp Woman. Sussa is a fashion mogul who tastes out an enzyme derived from spider DNA, and begins turning into a half human/half black widow highbred.
Legion of Bikers: The Legion as a biker gang. Simple enough.
Quislet the Snowman: Quislet possesses a snowman and brings it to life for the joy of the children.
Sunshine Supergirl: Supergirl from the same world of Sunshine Superman and the Love Syndicate of Dreamworld, a pastiche of the JLA created by Grant Morrison, based on the drug culture of the 60s and 70s.
Mountain Man Jo: Jo's FYL self recast as an over muscled, barrel chested, beer bellied, rough and tumble mountain man living in the Yukon. Or, wherever mountain men live it's not exactly a subject I'm familiar with.
Legion Clue: Starring... *Lightning Lass as Ms. Scarlet. *Brainiac 5 as Professor Plum. *Dream Girl as Mrs. White. *R.J. Brande as Col. Mustard. *Princess Projectra as Mrs. Peacock. *Rond Vidar as Mr. Green. *Matter-Eater Lad as Wadsworth, the butler.
and
*Ferro Lad as the dead guy.
Count Tenzil: So he's got fangs and glowing red eyes, and a Legion of ethereal brides, and he sleeps in a coffin, trust him, he's a count.
Absorbency Boy Sponges: A mock ad for sponges endorsed by Earth-Man, Kirt Niedrigh.
Crimson Avenger: An idea from a Tangent Comics thread, the Avenger is recast as Brin Londo, a wrestler who uses legal steroids and is a member of the Legion World Wrestling Federation.
Harley Dawnstar, Attorney at Law: They turned one bird guy into a lawyer, why not Dawnstar? Drake can be her Peanut.
Ferro the 13th: Ferro Lad is Jason Voorhees, a deformed, mass murdering zombie who chops up beer drinking, pot smoking, sexually active teenagers at Crystal Lake.
Lightning Wolf: Another amalgamated Legionnaire, this time Lightning Lad and Timber Wolf.
The Green Gladiator: Rond is cast as a Green Lantern gladiator, and his father is the emperor in the Coliseum.
Grease Legion: The Legionnaires cast in "Grease", with Jo as Danny and Tinya as Sandy.

(Edited for punctuation and sentence structure. I don't know why I bother but well, it bothers me sometimes.) sigh
This stuff is like reading someone's stream of consiousness! Besides a lot of rueful smiles, you inspired some actual smiles and a couple of outright laughs!
1. The Projectra you want to use is the wrong one. To begin with, the Phoenix Force is chaos and the instrument of the creation of life. A humanoid form may not be able to control/contain it and it may get careless about details, like the Asparagas People, but it's not really a force for death of everything, like Darkseid. PPPrime is way too negative, I think. Shooter made her with no redeeming qualities, imo. Phoenix has to have those or she's not interesting because she's too primal/big. So, I'd go with the Naga. Sensor is a good being who's been ripped from herself and then twisted into something she dispises, her world lost to her even before her universe was destroyed. Cham is really all she's got. That could be a powerful dynamic, I think.
2. Nura as Throm's concubine doesn't work for me either. If you're going to do something so 'Edgar Rice Burroughs', go all the way and make her his queen and ruler, imo.
The rest of my comments are in a random order:
3. Quislet the Snowman is my favorite and made me !
4. The Blok - Terry Pratchett has a golem character, perhaps 2, one of whom is controlled by the major city Mayorsort. The other, I think it's not the same one but I'm not sure, is an officer in the city police/guard.
His golems are major scary. They don't rest, they don't eat, they don't need air, they don't have emotions (sort of, this IS Terry Pratchett, after all.) Worse then Lore on Star Trek, because of their motivation and absolute coldness. That could be a very powerful story, too.
5. Legion of the Bat - this has been talked about before and I love the idea. The possiblities are endless. 'The Blok' could fit in there, either as a hero or a villian, or it could change back and forth.
6.Legion Club - this could be so funny, that's why I'd use the Subs instead, or maybe the Lallorians.
7. Lover's Lane - how does a psycho kill or even terrorize someone who's invulnerable or non-touchable? I don't know.
8. Lydda, Mistress of the Dark - very interesting idea! I like it. Maybe she could do it as a side job or hobbie!
9. Phantom Girl and her dragon Jo - that's a great idea but I'd want to see a Tinya and Jo who were totally unique, not look-a-likes of any ONE duo. There are so many to work with, so many to combine to come up with something all of your own.
Well, those are my favorites or what stood out to me most!
(This answer would have been here much sooner but my computer had a glitch for awhile. Fortunately, it fixed itself eventually!

There was an 'Image Legion' thread in BITS some time ago. It was kind of fun to think about, in a head-hurty way.

I love this idea. Heck, I've always wanted to get one of those cheapy 'make your own' kits where you back them up in the oven and play aroudn with making some stained-glass-style art.

The stained glass idea reminded me that I once had an idea for an Andromeda's Book of Hours. They were big in the middle ages and were illuminated manuscripts set like a daily or monthly calendar and devotional. This was when Laurel became the nun.
Each page was devoted to a Legionnaire, starting with Valor, her hero and kindred.
They would have a picture on one side and an illuminated manuscript/story/personal info on the other. The picture would show the Legionnaire doing something in daily life - for a superheroe, of course.
Love the stained glass idea.
