Besides Licensed Extra-Governmental Interstellar Operatives Network, that is.

Back in the day they did a contest and no one came up with the above answer. The closest was "Legalized Extra-Governmental Independent Operatives Network." by Pete Granger of Lowell, Massachusetts.

I guess most people used "Law Enforcement" for the first two letters, but the creative team decided that Dox's team wasn't based on any known, written law. Unfortunately, they didn't list the runners up. What would you have come up with?

Geez, it's hard enough coming up with a compelling answer for "L.E.G.I.O.N."...

Good thing the title wasn't L.E.G.I.O.N.O.F.S.U.P.E.R.H.E.R.O.E.S.!

All I could come up with is:

Very appropriate in light of the new Legion motto being "Eat it Grandpa!"?

Which reminds me of a funny thing Mark Waid did (twice -- once at the Legion panel, and once at the DCU panel)...

He said: "Let's all start by doing the Legion cheer!"

Mark: "Give me an L!"

Audience: "L!"

Mark: "Give me an E!"

Audience: "E!"

Mark: "Give me a G!"

Audience: "G!"

Mark: "Give me an I!"

Audience: "I!"

Mark: "Give me an O!"

Audience: "O!"

Mark: "Give me an N!"

Audience: "N!"

Mark: "Give me another O!"

Audience: "O!"

Mark: "Give me an F!"

At this point, the audience got it...
