Rokk Krinn, Imra Ardeen and Garth Ranzz save the life of stargate tycoon R. J. Brande from an assassination attempt orchestrated by his business partner Doyle and the White Triangle. Brande gets the idea for a living symbol of the United Planets's unity, and consults President Jean Chu about it (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 0).

Brande's personal assistant, Luornu Durgo, gathers the three youths to Brande's office and they agree to form the Legion of Super-Heroes, taking the code-names Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Live Wire, respectively (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 0).

The three founding Legionnaires stop an animal stampede caused by Grimbor the Chainsman (Legion of Super-Heroes Secret Files # 1).

The Legion of Super-Heroes is introduced to the United Planets council for approval at the meeting convened to ratify the U. P. charter. The Legion's status as official law-enforcement is approved after it saves the entire council from a bomb planted by the White Triangle in its main meeting hall with the help of Luornu Durgo and Tinya Wazzo, who become members as Triad and Apparition. President Chu contacts the governments of planets Aarok, Colu, Durla, Mars and Xanthu to select one of their citizens to represent the planet in the Legion. The selected members are, respectively, XS, Brainiac 5, Chameleon, Leviathan and Kid Quantum. Chu, in her capacity as President of Earth, selects Invisible Kid as Earth's representative (Legionnaires # 0). Leviathan, upon his appointment, at first rebels against the idea, but warms up to it after seeing that Chief Wilson of the Science Police intends to use him to further his own ambitions (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) Annual # 6). The other appointees are notified of their appointments (Legionnaires # 0).

Leviathan is appointed Legion leader by President Chu.

The Legionnaires take on their first official mission, and the first five meet five of the new appointees...all but Brainiac 5. Leviathan, as leader, leads the group against Tangleweb. Kid Quantum dies in the battle and Tangleweb escapes. Leviathan hands the leadership to Cosmic Boy, who had been selected by the original five, and becomes deputy leader (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 62).

The Legion is told that it is missing a member, and, following up on the matter, R. J. Brande contacts Brainiac 5, who had not read his summons. Doyle is captured by the Legion, who discover his part in the plot to kill Brande. A funeral is held for Kid Quantum, at which a bomb is planted in his coffin, which would have killed all the Legionnaires, President Chu, R. J. Brande and others, if not for the speedy reaction of XS (Legionnaires # 19).

The planet Angtu is destroyed by its last survivor, Mano (Legionnaires # 19).

Brainiac 5 reports to the Legion and begins work in his lab at the Legion's new headquarters.

Word of the Legion reaches Winath, which objects to runaway Live Wire being its representative, and sends his sister to replace him.

Mano attacks Leland McCauley on the moon. The Legion receives its own headquarters building and is introduced to new member Brainiac 5. McCauley enlists the Legion's aid in stopping Mano, and they succeed in capturing him. An experiment of Brainiac 5's is interrupted, leading to the de-gravitization of some Valorium. Upon the Legion's arrival on Earth, President Chu introduces them to Spark, Live Wire's sister, who is supposed to replace him (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 63, Legionnaires # 20).

Leland McCauley organizes the Workforce. The Legion confronts President Chu regarding the replacement of Live Wire with Spark. Invisible Kid discovers Brainiac 5's degravitized Valorium sample. Ultra Boy of the Workforce spies on the Legion and is attacked by Spark. Live Wire, coming to Spark's defense in the ensuing fight, wreaks great damage and quits the Legion (
Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 64).

Live Wire joins the Workforce.

White Triangle terrorists steal weapons from a Science Police asteroid despite the Workforce's attempt to stop them. The Legion heads to Planet Hell to try and re-open access to it from the outside world. The White Trianglers, in league with Planet Hell's warden, attack, and the Workforce, following the thieves, arrives there too and helps the Legion fend off newly-armed released criminals. Invisible Kid rescues all aboard Planet Hell, and the prisoner riots are ended (Legionnaires # 21-22, Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 65).

Andromeda, Shrinking Violet and Kinetix join the Legion; Lume and Gates refuse membership, and Micro kills Ion in an attempt to gain membership. Star Boy is designated as Xanthu's replacement for Kid Quantum, although he is still recovering from a spaceship crash (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 66).

Invisible Kid gives his newly-invented flight rings to the Legionnaires. The female Legionnaires (with the exception of Saturn Girl) attempt to gain entry to a dance club, and while waiting, witness an alien being attacked by White Triangle thugs. They save the alien and Andromeda takes off after the attackers, but she lets them go (Legionnaires # 23).

Andromeda and Apparition accompany Brawler, Cannus and Tomb to the planet Warnabros and fight some Motarian pirates (Showcase '95 # 6).

A team of Legionnaires leaves Earth to fight Tangleweb, who had been sighted again. They are captured, two by Tangleweb, and the others by natives of the creature's planet. Invisible Kid follows them. One of Triad's bodies, upset at being excluded from the mission, storms off alone and is badly beaten by White Triangle thugs (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 67). Brainiac 5, working through the night, figures out how to save Triad's life (Legionnaires # 24).

The captured Legionnaires wake up, and Invisible Kid catches up to them. They capture Tangleweb and incapacitate him for the Science Police. The Composite Man escapes confinement on Durla (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 68).

Shvaughn Erin hears through the grapevine that she's going to receive the assignment of being Legion liason officer, a rumor she shares only with good friend Gigi Cusimano. The two of them are assigned to keep an eye on unruly cadet Sybelle Deacon, and the three of them and Leviathan stop some rampaging creatures and their controllers (Showcase '95 # 6).

Shrinking Violet confronts Andromeda with her suspicions that Andromeda had let the thugs at the dance club go free. Ultra Boy sends a cactus to Apparition as a gift. The Composite Man reaches Earth, injures Shvaughn Erin and Leviathan, and copies the powers of almost al the Legionnaires. The Legion eventually stops him, but at the cost of Saturn Girl's sanity (
Legionnaires # 25, Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 69). Andromeda begins searching for the thugs who assaulted Triad (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 70).

Kinetix goes on an archaeological dig with Shrinking Violet and loses her powers (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) Annual # 6).

Shavughn Erin is officially given the assignment of Legion liason, to her chagrin and the jeers of her comrades. She begins her duties by looking through the Legion dossier, and, after reading of the origins and histories of XS, Kinetix and Leviathan, decides that she's proud to be associated with the Legion (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) Annual # 6).

The White Triangle attacks one of Leland McCauley's warehouses, which is defended by the Workforce and Apparition. Live Wire, frustrated with McCauley's shady dealings, quits the Workforce. Doctor Micah Aven comes to Earth to attempt to heal Saturn Girl's mind (Legionnaires # 26). He is confronted by Cosmic Boy, with whom he shares his suspicions that President Chu was responsible for the Braal-Titan war and might not be dealing truthfully with the Legion either (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 80). Andromeda confronts the thugs who attacked Triad and is poisoned by them with lead (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 70). She comes crashing through the roof of Legion headquarters (Legionnaires # 26).

Brainiac 5 devises a cure for Andromeda's lead poisoning, as she tells him her history. Kinetix leaves Earth in a quest to regain her lost powers. Triad is released from the hospital. Shrinking Violet discovers a White Triangle medallion in Andromeda's quarters, leading the Legionnaires to consider her a traitor (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 70).

Earthling White Trianglers attack interracial couples, including Ultra Boy and Apparition, who, with other Legionnaires fight them off. Daxamite White Trianglers begin destroying Stargates, including the one for which Kinetix was bound. Andromeda tells Roxxas of the anti-lead serum Brainiac 5 invented for her. Roxxas, in turn, uses his political clout to prevent Cosmic Boy from expelling Andromeda from the Legion for her White Triangle ties (Legionnaires # 27).

R. J. Brande goes to Trom to convince Tarn Arrah to come off-planet with him to create more Tarnium for new Stargates to replace the ones destroyed by the White Triangle. Tarn refuses, sending his son Jan instead. Invisible Kid forms the Legion Espionage Squad. The White Triangle Daxamites, under Roxxas's orders, destroy every living creature on Trom (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 71).

The Legion Espionage Squad takes some Earthling White Trianglers captive for interrogation. The Daxamite White Trianglers, now in possession of the anti-lead serum, attack Earth, wreaking great desruction. The Legion and Workforce work together to stop them, but they are defeated only when R. J. Brande brings Jan Arrah to create Tarnium for a Stargate that would send the Daxamites away. Andromeda, seeing how she was manipulated by Roxxas, confronts him directly, and in the fight, both apparently die in a nuclear furnace. (Andromeda survived and imposed upon herself exile to Planet Hell; it cannot be assumed, therefore, that Roxxas is dead, but he has yet to reappear). Valor appears in the power surge that activates the Stargate. Live Wie is reinstated by Cosmic Boy, and he brings Saturn Girl back to her senses. Apparition dies in Ultra Boy's arms during the battle (Legionnaires # 28, Annual # 2).

A funeral is held for Apparition and the apparently-dead Andromeda. Cosmic Boy invited Jan Arrah and Ultra Boy to join the Legion, but these invitations, and Live Wire's reinstatement, are overruled by President Chu (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 72). Cosmic Boy begins thinking seriously about Aven's suspicions (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 80).

Cosmic Boy asks Invisible Kid to form an espionage squad and begin spying on the President, if he hasn't already (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 80).

Brainiac 5 uses his time machine to travel to the twentieth century, where he is given a beer by Nuklon at the bar Warriors (Guy Gardner: Warrior # 29).

Doctor Zaxton Regulus seizes control of Derek Morgna's laboratories and takes Dirk Morgna hostage. The Legion defeats him, but not before he injects Dirk with an experimental radioactive gold solution, which, after Dirk is bombarded with radiation from an overheating nuclear reactor, causes Dirk to glow and project light like a sun. Valor appears again during the battle with Regulus. President Chu assaults Jan Arrah on Trom. Live Wire takes off to find his brother. Brainiac 5 returns from the twentieth century (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 72, Legionnaires # 29).

Live Wire is taken by police on the planet Bisbe, who mistake him for his brother, Lightning Lord. Lightning Lord facilitates Live Wire's escape from the police and takes Live Wire to Korbal, where he intends to kill him. Spark meets up with the two of them and helps Live Wire defeat Lightning Lord, but at the cost of Live Wire's right arm. The two of them retrun to Winath. Valor makes a third appearance in a power surge related to Brainiac 5's time-experiments. Cosmic Boy gets Brainiac 5 to cause Valor to appear intentionally, and they find out where he is and that they would need the help of the twentieth-century Superboy to get him out of there. A number of Legionnaires use Brainiac 5's time machine to travel to the past and meet Superboy. They enlist his aid and appear with him a short while later, though XS remains lost in time (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 73-74, Legionnaires # 30, Superboy (4th series) # 21).

Superboy, Ultra Boy and the Legion travel to Korr and fight the Scavenger for possession of an item that would help complte the machine necessary to retrieve Valor from the Stasis Zone. During this fight, Shrinking Violet encounters the Emerald Eye of Ekron for the first time (Legionnaires # 40). Superboy accidentally lets slip that the Legion is trying to rescue Valor. Brainiac 5 invents a personal force-field belt to protect himself from assaults. Valor is secretly rescued (the public is thrown off by a faked failure) and Superboy is made a Legionnaire and is returned to the twentieth century by Brainiac 5 (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 74, Legionnaires # 31).

Brainiac 5, trying to rescue XS, gets stuck in the timestream, and the twentieth-century villain Chronos, who had himself rescued XS, attacks the Legion seeking their time machine, inadvertently destroying it and an entire wing of the Legion's headquarters. Chronos dies and leaves his assistant, Lori Morning in the thirtieth century (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 75).

The Legion consults the Time Institute's Rond Vidar about rescuing Brainiac 5. They manage to make contact with him, but the Science Police's interference causes Chronos to be revived and attack them. Brainiac 5 figures out how to stop Chronos and return himself to real time, a plan which the Legion carries out, whereupon Brainiac 5 is arrested for illegal time-travel experimentation. Kinetix, adrift in space since her destination Stargate had been destroyed, is rescued by a witch named Mysa (Legionnaires #32).

Cosmic Boy, suspicious of the President's motives for arresting Brainiac 5, contacts Live Wire and asks him to form a rescue squad in preparation for when President Chu would directly attack the Legion (Legionnaires # 36).

Star Boy and Gates join the Legion. Spark rejoins the team. Shrinking Violet is seduced by the Emerald Eye of Ekron (Legionnaires # 40). Architect Chuck Taine is brought in to fix the Legion's headquarters building. President Chu wipes Jan Arrah's mind, places false memories in it, puts him inside an armored suit, and trains him to attack the Legion, who she sees as threats to her ambitions due to their capacity for time travel. She sends Jan to attack the Time Institute, where Rond Vidar and Saturn Girl are examining Lori Morning. Star Boy, in a training session, discovers that he has electrical-vision powers. Saturn Girl fights off Jan, while Lori slips away and gets arrested for insulting an alien being. Valor, upon Cosmic Boy's request, leaves on a fact-finding mission. Along the way, he stops a gang of cutthroats called the Gatherers from getting their hands on some old Braalian weapons. President Chu sends Jan to the planet Guron to attack it and then sends the Legion to stop him. She contacts the criminal Tharok, telling him to prepare to lead the Fatal Five that will soon be assembled against the Legion. Shrinking Violet stops Jan and the Legion reads his mind, which implicates Ambassador Wazzo in the crime of brainwashing him. Saturn Girl gets Lori Morning released from Science Police custody. Mysa trains Kinetix in mysticism, giving her telekinetic powers, in order that she find the Emerald Eye of Ekron for her. The Legion confronts the United Planets council with this evidence and while replaying the evidence, President Chu points out the image of a Sun-Eater in the background. She adjourns the council meeting, and tells the Legion that they must help assemble the Fatal Five (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 76, Legionnaires # 33-34). On the prison planet Takron-Galtos, Brainiac 5 is interrogated by the telepath Nara Minsork (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 77).

The Legion agrees to help assemble the Fatal Five. Mysa declares Kinetix's mystic training completed and gives her a new form, sending her off to find the Emerald Eye (Legionnaires # 34). Cosmic Boy tells the now-recovered Jan Arrah to meet with Live Wire, who would then gather up Ultra Boy and Andromeda and meet up with Valor to form the rescue squad.

The Legion gathers the Fatal Five on Takron-Galtos (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 78). While the Legion is away, Legion headquarters is attacked by shape-changing intruders, who are defeated by Chuck Taine, Tenzil Kem, Marla Latham, Lori Morning and Rond Vidar. All but one of the intruders die, and that one is taken by Lori as a pet, which she names Proty (Legionnaires # 35). The Five turn on them and defeat them in battle despite the help of Brainiac 5, who is released from his prison cell to aid them, and new super-strength and X-Ray vision powers newly discovered by Star Boy. XS, after adventures with the speedsters of the twentieth century (Impulse # 9-12, Flash (2nd series) # 108-112) and a fight against Nevlor in the one hundredth century and a meeting with the Time Trapper (Legionnaires Annual # 3) (during which time, she is touched, unbeknownst to her, by several Legionnaires in need of chronal energy to escape from the time-stream (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 91)), returns to the thirtieth century and is brought by the rescue squad to help save the Legion from the Fatal Five, which they do. Kinetix returns to the Legion in the middle of this battle, seeking the Emerald Eye. The Legionnaires determine that the Sun-Eater is a hoax, and that the Fatal Five, who escape, are about to re-start the war between Titan and Braal. The Legion and rescue squad split up, one group (with Aven's help) stopping Titanian ships from attacking Braal, one group stopping the Fatal Five, and one group...the espionage squad and Brainiac 5...getting President Chu to confess her crimes, leading to her removal from the office of president and her replacement with R. J. Brande, who eases most U. P. controls on the Legion and pardons Brainiac 5 and Andromeda of their crimes (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 79-80, Legionnaires # 36).

Jan Arrah, Ultra Boy and Live Wire become official Legion members again.

Cosmic Boy announces his resignation as Legion leader. He, Saturn Girl, Live Wire, Leviathan and Invisible Kid begin work on a Legion constitution (Legionnaires # 37).

Andromeda decides to not rejoin the Legion. Valor, taking the code-name M'Onel, joins the Legion as a "detatched service agent." Jan Arrah takes the code-name Element Lad. Kinetix interrogates the Empress regarding the Emerald Eye's whereabouts. Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Live Wire leave on a goodwill tour to ease tensions between Braal and Titan (Legionnaires # 37).

Leviathan, XS and Gates go to Dagosk and stop Quicksand and Holdur from continuing a string of political assassinations (Showcase '96 # 8).

Dirk Morgna escapes from the hospital to see his father, and the Legionnaires find a way for the two to touch again safely. The Legion is given custody of Dirk. Invisible Kid makes a mistake that makes him appear to be Spark's secret admirer. He, Spark, Chameleon, Gates, M'Onel and Star Boy are taken by Leviathan to Xanthu to settle the question of Star Boy's Legion status (
Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 81).

Saturn Girl, Live Wire and Cosmic Boy get to Titan and attend a magno-ball exhibition, where they save some lives when a bomb explodes and discover that the Braalian representative is the culprit in setting it. While there, Live Wire and Cosmic Boy are introduced to Saturn Girl's family and Saturn Girl is introduced, by Aven, to the darkness within her mind. Dr. Gym'll, after being hired by Triad to handle the Legion's routine medical needs, arrives at Legion headquarters. Shrinking Violet is elected Legion leader (Legionnaires # 38).

The Legionnaires fight the Amazers on Xanthu and Star Boy earns the right to stay with the Legion. Apparition frees herself from Ultra Boy's body (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 82).

Shrinking Violet has the Emerald Eye of Ekron grant Each Legionnaire his or her heart's desire. Doctor Regulus breaks free of the Science Police and takes over the planet Gallan, an incident investigated by both the Legion and the Workforce (Legionnaires # 39). Triad splits into three distinct beings, Dirk Morgna returns to normal and Leviathan is killed stopping Regulus, all as a result of wish-fulfillment by the Eye (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 83). Shrinking Violet openly employs the Eye's power and attempts to use the Legion to find a way to revive Leviathan, but the Legionnaires prove unwilling to obey her commands (Legionnaires # 40). The Emerald Eye, through Shrinking Violet, takes direct control of the Legion, and begins having them remake Earth in its image, but Saturn Girl breaks free and leads Inferno and Shvaughn Erin against it, while Kinetix tries to take its power for herself. Seeing the unity of her team fall apart, Shrinking Violet commands the Eye to turn back time, a command which causes a huge explosion that sends a number of Legionnaires and others backward in time to the twentieth century (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 84), where they have met Superman (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 85), Ultra Boy encountered and Cosmic Boy captured a youth gang that included Squirrel and Strafe (Showcase '96 # 10), they helped fight the Sun-Eater (Final Night Preview, Final Night # 1-4, Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 86), attended Hal Jordan's funeral (Green Lantern (3rd series) # 81), helped Superman in an unsuccessful attempt to regain his powers (Superman (2nd series) # 119), accidentally freed Brainiac and then, with the help of Vril Dox, helped end his conquest of Colu (Showcase '96 # 12), fought Poltergeist alongside Deadman (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 87), accidentally unleash and then defeat a rogue computer program in Superman's fortress called Blck Zero II (Superman Plus # 1), and unwisely enlisted the aid of Impulse in using the Cosmic Treadmill to get home, during which time they acquired a pet monkey, Koko (Impulse # 21).

The satellite in which the remaining Legionnaires are gathered crashes to Earth (Legionnaires # 41).

A funeral is held for Leviathan; on the return trip, Kinetix and others are transported to Zarrox by Mysa, who, after a brief skirmish and a discussion with Kinetix's mother, restores Kinetix's power and original form and sends the Legionnaires home (Legionnaires # 41-42).

Live Wire is appointed acting Legion leader (Legionnaires # 42).

The Legion holds tryouts for new members. Magno, Umbra and Sensor are accepted, and numerous applicants are rejected, including Splitter, Cannus, Dreamer, Brek Bannin, Lydda Jath, Arachno, Macaw, Particon, Radion, Blast-Off, Dragonmage (Legionnaires # 43), Tongue, Density, Phantom Lad and Cherry Bomb (Legionnaires # 44).

Lori Morning is de-aged by Rond Vidar on her birthday, and he establishes limited contact with the Legionnaires trapped in the twentieth century. A Legion of Super-Rejects causes a cave-in on an asteroid mine in the hopes that they might attract the attention of the Legion, but when only the three new recruits arrive, the disappointed rejects attack them and are defeated. The twentieth-century Legionnaires, after speaking to the thirtieth-century crew, are evicted from S. T. A. R. Labs due to the actions of Brainiac 5 and Impulse, leading to Impulse's rejection for membership in the Legion (Legionnaires # 44, Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 88), they move into the former headquarters of the Justice League of America, allowing Ferro to stay with them, they take on jobs to earn money (Legion of Super-Heroes Secret Files # 1), Saturn Girl searches for Network and befriends her (Sovereign Seven Plus # 1), Spark runs away and Saturn Girl accidentally awakens Doctor Psycho while pursuing her (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 89), and Saturn Girl then expels Doctor Psycho from her own mind, which he invaded, in a battle that results in Cosmic Boy's being left comatose (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 90).

Invisible Kid is elected leader of the Legionnaires in the thirtieth century, and leads the team to a victory over Mantis Morlo on Vyrga (Legionnaires # 45).

Dreamer gets a premonition about Kinetix while on a date with Star Boy and Star Boy later saves a Science Police cruiser (Legionnaires # 46).

Chameleon fends off pressure from the leaders of his planet to take the post of spiritual leader, and goes on a date with Sensor, during which they save the lives of people involved in a boat crash. Mysa recruits Dragonmage in the fight against Mordru (Legionnaires # 46).

The Legionnaires in the thirtieth century are contacted by Brainiac 5, who is able to tell Rond Vidar how to make a time machine to rescue them from the twentieth century. He does so, but the machine malfunctions due to Lori's tampering, and the entire Legion ends up trapped in the time-stream (Legionnaires # 47). Brainiac 5 manages to get the Legion back into normal time, but the Legionnaires end up in three different time periods: the thirtieth century where they belong, the late twentieth century where some of them had been, and the year 1958 (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 91), in a pocket dimension, where they had their memories warped and they spent some time believing themselves to be Earthling teenagers, spending time with an art teacher named Mister Swan (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 92). They then return to the part of the twentieth century that they had previously been stuck in, reuniting with Shvaughn Erin, Apparition and Ferro, and Ferro fights Doc 30 and the Knight Shift to free his brother from their hands, a fight during which his brother is killed. The Legion offers Ferro membership (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 93), which he accepts, in his gratitude making new costumes for the Legionnaires, all of which get destroyed except for Inferno's (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 94). Around this time, Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl become engaged to marry, Ultra Boy builds a vehicle for the Legion to use for transportation, the Legion, using it, discovers that Superboy had given his flight ring to his girlfriend Roxy, and the Legionnaires take it away from her, and Gates and Ultra Boy volunteer their help at a soup kitchen (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 94). Then, Ferro helps earn some money for the Legion (Legion of Super-Heroes Secret Files # 1). Later, Brainiac 5 attempts to obtain a responsometer from the Metal Men, which one of them gives him after some initial resistance (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 95), and after that, Inferno leaves the group and settles in a mall (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 96, Inferno # 1-4). It is discovered that Saturn Girl had been unconsciously animating Cosmic Boy's body out of a need for structure, but was actually in love with Live Wire, so their wedding is called off, but Cosmic Boy is then truly healed, and Ultra Boy and Apparition marry (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 96). Brainiac 5 then helps Supergirl solve a magical problem (Supergirl (4th series) Annual # 2), and then, the Legionnaires get involved in Genesis, during which Spark's powers change from projecting electricity to making things weightless and Phase of L. E. G. I. O. N. tries to steal, but instead disappears into, her touchstone, which was in the possession of Tiffany Cross (Genesis # 1-4, Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 97), after which they revoke and reinstate Superboy's membership and fight Silver Sword (Superboy (4th series) # 45) and Ferro has a dream, shared by other twentieth-century heroes, that the Legion and most twentieth-century heroes were killed by a bounty hunter (Lobo (2nd series) # 50).

President Brande informs the Legion about Mordru, who kills a shaman on the planet Anatac and then almost causes a war between the United Planets and the planet Sklar. The Legionnaires confront him, but he fights them off, turning Element Lad into crystal, and destroys Sklar, threatening to do the same to any other planet that offers resistance to his power (Legionnaires # 48).

President Brande oversees the gathering of a large super-powered force to fight Mordru. Mordru locates the Emerald Eye in Shrinking Violet's possession and fights her for it, during which Atom'x gets in the middle and is killed. Shrinking Violet and the Eye merge and propose marriage to Mordru (Legionnaires # 49). The force manages to seal Mordru inside an airtight vault, leaving him with no oxygen. During the battle, Blast-Off of the Workforce is killed, Mysa is restored to her youth, Magno loses his powers, and Violet is separated from the Eye, which disappears and goes to an unknown place (Legionnaires # 50).

Apparition's mother gives Apparition's father some money for his gambling debts (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 94).

The Legionnaires and others destroy Mordru's talismans. Radion and Particon leave the Workforce. Chuck Taine discovers a mysterious stranger in Legion headquarters (Legionnaires # 51). Shrinking Violet discovers that the Emerald Eye bestowed Leviathan's powers on her and she takes on the code-name LeVIathan (Legionnaires # 52).

The Legionnaires return to Earth, with the exception of Magno, who goes to Braal to see if his powers can be restored. The other members of the Mordru-fighting task force go their seperate ways. Monstress joins the Legion (Legionnaires # 52).

Monstress is shown introduced to life as a Legionnaire. Lori Morning, using the H-Dial, stops some Sklarian from stealing high-tech weapons. Magno returns to Braal in order to undergo tests to discover the source of his power loss, but doctors prove unable to help him (Legionnaires # 53).

LeVIathan, Invisible Kid, Chameleon, Live Wire and Element Lad, along with Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, Triad, and Brainiac 5 are brought into the 1940's of a pocket dimension and implanted with false memories, and are returned to their previous times and places after they "die" there (Legionnaires # 54). Karate Kid quits the Workforce and seeks refuge amongst the Legion over Leland McCauley's attempt to use the space anomaly for profit. The Legion works out a deal with McCauley getting McCauley to drop any charges against Karate Kid stemming from his departure, and the Legion getting Karate Kid's services. Star Boy, Monstress and Kid Quantum discover intentional jamming of Xanthu's communications and go to stop it, but are attacked by the Khunds. They survive the attack, but are unable to prove that the Khunds were in league with those jamming the communications, as the Khunds had destroyed all of the evidence (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 103, Legionnaires # 60).

Karate Kid and Kid Quantum II officially join the Legion, and Sensor and Chameleon leave (Legionnaires # 60).

Meanwhile, the Legion rescues the passengers of the ship on which the Durlan escaped (Legion of Super-Heroes (3rd series) # 104).

Monstress, Gates, Kinetix, Ferro, Kid Quantum, XS and Lori Morning find themselves in a world where they are not Legionnaires, and in which the Legionnaires that they are familiar with are quite different than the ones they remember. He is confronted by the Ringers, but convinces them that he is in the right, and the Global Grace Foundation's director decides that the Ringers are a liability to the company and attempts to destroy the satellite with Shadder and the Ringers on it. The satellite is saved from destruction by Shadder and Ringer Driana Allon (Legion: Science Police # 4).
