Reboot's recent post reminded me of an item I had in my closet, rolled up in a poster tube, unseen in at least five years. I finally let my nagging voice get to me and dug out the tube. Inside, starting to fade, was a Legion timeline produce by an unknown Legion fan and purchased by me on eBay. I do not remember the guy I bought it from except that he used to produce a number of Legion items he created personally. Maybe he even is a member here.

Anyway, this timeline had seen better days. The colors were fading and being rolled up for so long had taken its toll. Hoping for the best, fearing the worst, I took it to work today so I could stop by Kinkos on the way home. I lucked out on my first stop as they had a high speed, large document scanner that could even handle rolled up documents with ease. $30.00 later I had a high res .tiff burned to a CD and was rushing home.

Now, this image isn't much better than the actual item. I have reduced the size quite a bit just to get it manageable for here (providing a link as opposed to embedding the image). I did replace the logo, smudged beyond recognition, and tried to tighten up the color.

What I want to do is this. I want to update this timeline. It was created prior to The Legion and ends with Zero Hour. Any brave soul that wants to add that history is welcome. But I want to clean up what is here, especially before it all gets screwed up again with the upcoming Action Comics arc. Once it is redone I'll recreate the format and post it to the LegionWiki as a resource for all. I'll even make the large (nearly 100MB) .tiff available for anyone wanting to take it to Kinkos, etc. to print. A 24"x36" glossy print will run you $70. At least it will here in SLC.

Legion Timeline - WARNING: File Size over 800KB (3144x2360)

That's pretty amazing! Overwhelming, even - I just scanned through it quickly so far. Somebody put a lot of time into that... and a big job to update.

That's pretty intense! Highly impressive, but like FC says, a bit overwhelming. I'll have to take my time checking it out.

I know. Can you imagine taking that kind of time to create it and sell it (it wasn't expensive either, like $25 maybe?). I'm surprised it hasn't been presented somewhere on the net before now.

Oh yeah.

I know the post-ZH stuff as well as anyone here, and I expect that would take me weeks to do something like that, even with a proportionately shorter history...

So, let me ask this. On a brief look, not spending hours pouring over each entry and deviation, does this appear to be a still accurate account of the pre-Zero Hour Legion-verse? If so, I may just clean up the format and post it as such, just pre-Zero Hour history.

I've been looking at this thing for hours (last night and as time has permitted today) and I can't think of any updates off the top of my head. Its the post-Zero Hour history that gives me a headache.

With the possible exception of the sliding timeline meaning no specific dates for a timeline like this, what of it?

Mostly because it really isn't my cup of tea. I prefer the pre-Zero Hour eras, especially prior to the Bryne-ing of the Legion's history. Post-ZH is where I originally left the Legion before coming back at the end of Legion of the Damned.

you know LL i wanted to get this item on ebay and when i finally was gonna get it it was gone! I hoped someday some how i would see it! I could kiss ya ... i love how this guy went into soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much detail about things and acknowledged all the then current legion eras including the 1 issue of the morduverse (though very important worth mentioning since it explains who Glorith is).

Yes I dont think there's anything else worth mentioning of Post Zero HOur legion except....

1)you have to redo all the legionnaires DOB's and induction of when they joined including then new characters like XS and Gates for examples. The adding of significant events like the WHite Triangle, the blight, Emerald Vi , the team 20 legion, Phase being tinya once again, (have to include somewhere about her other 2 selves being kidnapped by her dad and one going to the 20th century to become Phase) and go on and on all the way to Legion Lost (with Jan going to the way distant past) to the 1 year gap (of legion lost), the return of the legion all the way to Superboy Prime Punch that shook this time line off as being the main one aka Infinite Crisis. and the re-reboot of the current legion all the way to Starboy becoming Starman in JSA but first being on Kingdom Come Earth and him being from the Legion that's from the lightning saga...

I can help if you need it...i have all the post zero hour issues. Oh yeah you're gonna have to mention Superboy (Kon-EL) too cause they met him (and that whole Final Night crossover )

I'll also see how I can pitch in. I likewise have post-ZH, Lost, Worlds, DnA Legion & WaK Legion issues. I'm taking a week off during the last week of October and this should give me something to do for a couple of days. [Smile]

Also, maybe there's a way to include alternative/Elseworld type stories ala Superboy's Legion and Universe Ablaze?
