My theory is:

Naltorians have a natural ability to go into deathlike comas when involved in severe trauma like buildings exploding. These comas, which involve the shutting down of the heart and respiratory system, usually last for 2-3 issues.

Would this be an attempt to get out of your "I'll stop buying Waid's LSH if she's dead" thing?

Posted by MLLASH on :

No. See my post in the SPOLIERS thread. I'm still aware of that, and still intend to.

Unless...

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!

Nah, don't really want spoiled. I only saw that pledge in the first place 'cause it was on the MMB and this thread 'cause it was in the bit left of the shoutbox [Smile]

Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, angel
Come get up my baby
Look at that sky, life's begun
Nights are warm and the days are young
Come get up my baby

There's my baby, lost that's all
Once I'm begging you save her little soul
Come get up my baby

Last night they loved you, opening doors and pulling some strings, angel
Come get up my baby
In walked luck and you looked in time
Never look back, walk tall, act fine
Come get up my baby

I'll stick with you baby for a thousand years
Nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years,
Come get up my baby

Some of these days, and it won't be long
Gonna drive back down where you once belonged
In the back of a dream car twenty foot long
Don't cry my sweet, don't break my heart
Doing all right, but you gotta get smart
Wish upon, wish upon, day upon day, I believe oh lord
I believe all the way
Come get up my baby

There's my baby, lost that's all
Once I'm begging you save her little soul
Golden years
Come get up my baby

Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, angel
Come get up my baby
Run for the shadows, run for the shadows
Run for the shadows in these golden years

I'll stick with you baby for a thousand years
Nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years

The deep sleep to recover from trauma makes the most sense. We have different definitions of death - many more abound in comics - so she may only be deceased according to whatever the monitors/scanners are measuring.

This would be better than Brainy finding some miracle cure, since it would demonstrate (to him, at least) that he doesn't know everything, that his science doesn't have all the answers.

TD's Bowie lyrics - playing now on Channel One - point to several possibilities - "in walked luck" (Luck Lords? Calamity King?) "and you looked in time" (Time Trapper?), "a dream car" (Naltorian trauma recovery?), "you gotta get smart" (Coluan/Imskian micro-surgery? too bad they had to shave her head), "run for the shadows" (a Talokian connection, obviously)...

If all else fails, Projectra could cast a permanent illusion and everyone would think she's still alive. Then Barry would have to draw her into the stories, so she'd be alive for us too, and you wouldn't have to stop buying LSH.

She's dead, but in the interests of keeping Brainy sane and not inventing Computos, the other Legionnaires will "revive" Nura in a mock ceremony involving lightning, and replace her with Proty while Brainy is distracted. Proty will then continue to make predictions of his eventual marraige to Brainy, Brainy will allow himself to be fooled, and everyone will be happy... except for Mmlash, who will continue to buy Legion, but from small shop near the county line and under an assumed name.

She has a hitherto unrevealed twin sister (not Mysa; I think she was older or younger or something). Her twin is deranged and took Nura's place days before HQ exploded. Nura is safe and well and under sedation in her sister's hospital room on Naltor.

Hey! It happens all the time in soap operas!

She's D-E-A-D, Dead. Deal with it. Until the writers fix it.

No we're NOT there yet.

You should have thought of that before we left.

Don't make me pull this space cruiser over to the curb. You won't like it if I have to do that!

The "body" they discovered wasn't really her. It was just Jo's life-size Nura doll that he kept in his closet.

Oh, please. Everyone knows this is really "Dark Nura" that was killed. The real Nura will be found at the bottom of Jamaica Bay in a few years. Either that, or it is really Proty who died.

Let's say... Moe saved her.

I'm giving it through the 'Supergirl' run.

The 'Supergirl' run could last five years... [Wink]

Nura's alive: cellular memory.

Maybe she -is- Supergirl,

Rockhopper, your idea makes me want to [Holt] you...an evil twin?! Perfecto!

Maybe Brainy plans to use Lemnos to restore the minds of the Coluans.

REBOOT!!!

Posted by knowjack on :

I really don't CARE how they make it happen, I just want Dream Girl alive, dammit! She was just about the only female character in this reboot with a real personality. I was so pumped to have my two faves, Dream Girl and Sun Boy, back in the Legion and they've killed one and written out another. Sigh.

It may be sacreligious, but I think I'm okay with her being dead now. Of course, we've got a missing body to deal with and a Coluan to restore to reality - minor points.

Nura went out on a high note; we adored her, she hadn't had any annoying scenes (like demanding somebody's glasses [Wink] ) and her death is really felt because she, as a character, had so much potential. I want the good stuff to never end - but everything changes and it makes room for other, equally appreciated characters and stories (better stop before I start sounding like Element Lad).

Fat Cramer,

I agree with you and it was how I felt about Colossal Boy's death before the triboot. I loved the character and would have liked to seen more of him/her, but let's just go on.

okay, in this future Brainiac 5 is attracted to Dream Girl, rather than Supergirl. No sooner does Dreamy die than Supergirl mysteriously appears with no memory other than being sure she is "dreaming" all of this. Brainy tries to resurrect Dream Girl only to find the body disappears. Meanwhile, in Supergirl's book, the mind-manipulating adult Saturn Queen is lurking behind the scenes.
Meanwhile back in the future, a new LSV is forming, of which an adult Saturn Queen was one of the top 3 members in the original Adventure series.
Can all of this be coincidence?
could Saturn Queen have saved/revived Dream Girl, and is now masking her in a Supergirl mass-hypnosis spell? first off... why?
secondly... how has Supergirl?Nura managed to pull off her super-feats then?
