Nightcrawler has already replied in my other post, saying that if Mon does show up it'll likely be after issue 12.

I just thought I would ask who would like to see him, and if he does show up would you like him to have a new costume or the same one he had previously?

Personally I wouldn't mind either, as the current creative team has done a nice job redesigning many of the costumes, especially Cosmic Boys.

I would love to see M'Onel in this current version of Legion. I liked some of his previous costumes, but I don't think I would be opposed if they gave him something new. I just want to see how they will portray him.

Well how about a new costume with the old look. Mon's old costume was very much like a uniform. While his ZH reboot costumes were very dynamic I prefer that uniform look to him.

I love Mon-El guys. I get down right philosophical about the guy. To me he's the old man and the sea (phantom zone or the vastness of space). He's the spiritual samurai. You get the idea. [Wink]

Many of Barry's uniforms have the uniform look I am hoping for so I think I would be happy with his Mon-El.

I adore Mon-El and can't wait to see how he'll be reintroduced. I think the Valor identity will be wiped away, as all other v.4/postboot retcons have been in this new series - and that's a good thing, imo.

I don't know how they'll deal with the "El" surname, unless he adopts in memory of the ancient hero, Superman. His 20th century origin is another Pandora's box, but I trust WaK will find a way without detracting too much from his mythos.

A change of costume would be welcome, but nothing too radical, and he should always be dressed in red and blue.

The reverse-Superman aspect of the costume should always be kept, as I think that's particularly important to the identity of the character.

I always liked Mon-El. I really liked it when he replaced Superboy in continuity as the inspiration for the Legion (I like it when DC uses characters other than the Big Three).

I mostly missed the last ten years or so of Legion, but, from what I've read, I like the name "M'Onel". It gives a nod to the original, but it moves off in its own direction.

I'd love for Mon-el to be part of this Legion. His presence always makes the team "bigger" somehow because he's got such a rich backstory. Mon seems to work best when he's got that bit of alienation, being almost a ghost from the past - the "rip van winkle" or Marvel's equivalent, Captain America - a character who embodies the heroism of a bygone age.

I like Mon-El. Always good to have the big guy hitting cleanup. And I hope they do find a good way of putting him on the team.

But, you know, it might work better without him. Do you guys realize how few Legionnaires there are on this team with any real strength? Two. Ultra Boy and Gim. That makes them all the more important. I think the dynamic of the team would change big time once Ultra Boy wasn't the toughest kid on the block anymore. And I'd like to see how this version works, at least for a while.

I'm anxiously awaiting Mon's return! My favorite hero of all time is as much a part of the foundation of the Legion as the Founders, IMHO. Plus, he gives the team the ability to really handle universal threats.

In this new version, I almost think that Mon will have to play a big brother role to Jo, riding herd on him to tone down Jo's immaturity and volatility.

As far as his uniform, I would much prefer something close to if not exactly as his traditional red and blue. That's as much of a classic as Jo's. (Though it would be interesting to see what other variations Barry considered. Can wait to see that character design sheet [Big Grin] )

Maybe a variation of the costume that Moy and Carani did - the starfield with the M-shaped reddish background?

Mon-el is a great character. He's not only incredibly powerful and versatile, he's always had an interesting character background - even when it's been carried to extremes and he's been portrayed as unstable - and he's always seemed like the greater, nobler hero in a group of heroes.

If he turned up this time as a bad guy, or wrong-side guy (like Blok was initially), I think it would weaken his traditional stature, but could still make for a good story.

I liked the starfield costume, but would be interested to see what Barry might come up with.
