From issues #2-9, we have the silhouette/roll call page - although it is never identified as a roll call. Waste of a page, or does it have some meaning we haven't caught yet? So I spread them out on the floor and observe:
Usually it's the same silhouettes, just not always in the same position or the same size. In #4, we see Cham changing shape, Cos with his magnetic rings and some circuitry around Brainiac 5; in #8, it might be Cham or someone else (Brin?) and #9 breaks the mold with a number of new silhouette forms for previously seen characters.
Although the silhouettes remain the same for most pages, the coloured portraits are different in every issue - so not always the result of a different artist.
I suspect we se Violet among these silhouettes - my guess is #7, lower right figure.
The page strikes me as being seen through somebody's vision (which has been suggested) - as though looking through night goggles or a different type of eyes.
No idea if any of this means anything, but I'm betting that they're not "wasting" a page for no reason.
Also, in #6, does anyone know who is the silhouette in the upper right corner with the thigh pockets/pouches and flapped boots?

Looks like it could be Lyle to me but the build doesn't seem quite right.

in #8 - there is a silhouette next to Brainiac 5 - who is that person? does anybody know?

Lyle has a different silhouette which was linked to his colour picture in another issue - but it does look like his headband costumed look (which we've only seen on the covers). Maybe there are two Lyles? Or this one dies and the costumed one takes his place?
Some speculation here about that figure next to B5 in #8 was either Cham or Brin in wolf/werewolf form.
