...it's FERRO!

First, he "sacrifices" himself to stop the suneater. Sshyyyeah, right. Gave himself a getaway strategy is what he really did.

Second, there is an "Iron Curtain" of time. Iron, Ferro...its soooo obvious people.

Third, TT can take a punch from Supes and keep going. Now really, who in the future could realistically do that? Not many.

Fourth, a controller was "supposedly" revealed as TT, but ...Ferro always wore a mask, didn't he? Hunh, hunh! So, no one really knew what he looked like. Mighty dang suspicious, wasn't it...

Fifth, Ferro keeps returning in each new "rebirth" type of event. Just another nail in the coffin.

So, ladies and gentle sapients of the jury, i submit Habeias Corpulent, Prima Fascia, Prima Donna, Donna tella, and Tellus likitis evidence for your considered...consideration.

Jack'cuse Ferro!

The incensed rests.

Being a Ferro fan, i take umbrage at your attempts to make Andrew a scapegoat. Andy is the most unassuming (people may think him a bit "wussy") dude.

The TT has been in most of his/her/its appearences: Cosmic Boy, Glorith, Lori Morning and others...but you don't fixate on them, do you? Cos is the original "hot guy in the bustier", Glorith is the "arrogant babe with hissy-fit like attitude", Lori is "a whiny brat who can be deceptive - can you not tell from the lengths she took to replace the "Hero" dial and abscond with it so she could worm her way into the Legion's hearts?"

Then, as did Terra, before her (had done in the New Teen Titans) she will take on the mantle of the Trapper and pay back the Legion by turning them into "babies" just as they (or rather, Rond Vidar)had.

Sorry, Rickshaw, for jumping on you like that, i know you meant your comments to be taken as "tongue-in-cheek"...You DO like Ferro as much as i do...

Don't you??? *insert menacing glare here*

Good reasoning, rick! I'm sure that exactly what ol' timeline/reality defying Dougie Nolan expected you to conclude...

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Now, Douglas....he was the bad seed of the Nolan family, for sure!

*sigh* I miss the Ferro/Karate Kid relationship of the postboot!

Lots of great detective work in this thread!

Obviously, the Time Trapper/Rokk scheme was a plan to discredit Cosmic Boy by those tricky Nolan brothers!

HHmmm
You know, Brainiac claimed he'd built a device that allowed him to see into other realities but how do we know that's what really happened? He's been the victim of wishful thinking more than once...and in more than one timeline.

You might be on to something here Rick...but then again...did you take your meds today?

That actually works better than the Time Trapper is Rokk storyline. But what was his motivation? Was he ordinary Andrew Nolan/Ferro who somehow became the TT, or was he originally the TT who posed as Ferro?

I always assumed the Time Trapper was the original Kid Quantum.

Think about it:

* Time based powers
* Died more times than Ferro ever did
* Didn't even exist in some legion realities - covered his tracks well
* His kid sister went from complete nobody to hussy-level panel hog in a suspiciously short amount of time

Supporting evidence: Who was it who killed that renegade Controller? Why, the "ghost" of Ferro Lad! Clearly, having frightened that poor superstitious superscientist to death-or-possibly-coma with a display of his temporal powers, Ferro reanimated him to serve as a decoy Trapper!

Brillant!

Pure, utter brillance!

Forget all that other crap. The Time Trapper IS Ferro Lad--'more force than actual person' and all that jazz too!

Nice theory. Come up with it in your outhouse? [LOL]
Just bustin' your chops my friend. [tease]

Motivation?

MOTIVATION?

He don't need no stinking motivation...but here it is...

he was drunk on silverale...seemed like a good idea at the time.

AND SO, IN A FIT OF RAGE AT NOT HAVING ORANGE JELLO IN THE CAFETERIA AFTER HAVING ASKED THE AUTOCHEF FOR IT NINETEEN TIMES, HE VOWED REVENGE, YES HE DID!

Hours of planning went in to it. It consumed him for about three hours, and then it was a done deal, for no one reckoned with his amazing ability to focus for fourteen minutes and thirteen seconds completely. And in those forteen minutes and thirteen seconds, he figured out the secrets of time, space, and how to always get into carnegie hall without practicing a bit...HIT THE DOORMAN OVER THE HEAD AND WALK IN, DAGNABIT!

And in doing so, a legend, and leacher was born. I mean, you control time, you really think he wasn't spying on the girls in the shower between seconds?

*furtively looks around for suspicious iron masks

umm, boss, you there?

All kidding aside, i have thought that this would work well for some time. The least assuming legionairer in many respects, becomes the single greatest enemy they ever had.

Not for revenge or anything, but simply because he continously searched for something. Whether it was a way to fix his face, or (better in my opinion) simply a way to interact with people. As a shy person searching for something/anything, he would be prime for possibly getting lost in becoming the TT.

Time Trapper has always struck me as being someone who was never insecure or unsure of his role in society or mankind in general.

I maintain that Ferro couldn't be TT because his emotional make up doesnt fit with the other Trappers who had gone before - because these were either confidant and/or ambitious or just desirous of power - like Lori Morning - or even at one time - Kinetix.

Well, postboot Ferro wasn't as confident as TT, but I think it can be argued very easily that pre-boot Ferro Lad was like TT. Even the SW6 Ferro Lad appeared that way.

And you are forgetting that TT isn't necessarily the age of Ferro in the comics. He may have spent millions of years becoming the TT. As his knowledge grew, he may have lost much of his past memories due to incredible amounts of time passing.

He is left with only the knowledge that the legion is critical to his past, but reads the clues to his past wrongly.

That may sound a little like Jan in the last boot, but not really. To me, it would be more like the real way things were, and the supposed "rokk" revelation was just an offshoot.
