Apparently the editors of ADVENTURE COMICS #371 (AUG 1968) felt that the people of Thrann and a few of the Super-Companions should be white/anglo-saxons rather than their more colorful, racially diverse selves from SUPERBOY #101 (DEC 1962)! Blue Othar & orange Stormboy both turned pink! Greyish Shadowman bleached out! And what’s with aging brown-haired Liquidman into a dark haired fellow? I thought the 60’s were a time of enlightenment!
It’s an outrage I tell you!

Besides, everyone knows Bobb Barker and Shadow were non-caucasian before their powers kicked in! Othar had to be changed so everyone wouldn't think he was from Talok VIII.

It was actually a pretty decent story! I've been so displeased with re--reading the Conway era, that it was quite nice to go back and read this light little tale.
Candle, I'll post a review of the story when I find a few spare moments (unless someone else beats me to it).
But no, there are no girls amongst the Companions.
