Preliminary sketches are already done...
80's Giffen redesign- not totally sold on the image I created. Considering cape. Needs tweeking.
Late Baxter-- shoulder pads, vest, bulky gloves and boots, pants with lots of pockets and a ... HOOD! over trimmed short bangs.
SW6/Reboot--Typical Legionnaire stripe design with L belt buckle and utility belt. Adventure Era nelly cap over---Sprouse/Moy MULLET!
WaK Legion design not done yet....

For Legion on the Run era, which was chock-full of ugly costumes, I'm thinking a fashion calamity of Captain Ultra proportions! Blue! Purple! Orange! Magenta! Mint Green! Or what have you.

Glad you approve, EDE. I tried to imagine him standing next to the Emerald Dragon, Polestar and NRG, etc. Seemed to fit.
I actually liked LotR, even though most people did not. I think on a more superficial level, I liked the idea of total identity changes and going underground. In hindsight, I realize that the story had lots of holes in it.
But back to Calamity King! I think it would have been great to have him back in Legion stories at that time.

What might have been really cool would have been to have a team of mysterious heroes show up to aid the on-the-run Legionnaires only to eventually reveal that they were made up of obscure characters such as Calamity King, Rainbow Girl, Phantom Lad, Questar, etc.

So I thought Barry's Calamity King design was pretty groovy. I like the stylized version of his symbol, though I'm still a little uncertain about the replacement of his trademark hat with sunglasses.
