What the Titanet should've been renamed, if the whole plot about using Dreamer to convert it to an early warning system had played out.

Good idea, except they should have called it "Neural Network". (I told you guys I was anal about spelling!) [Smile]

do you know how much that would have SUCKED to have nura plugged into titanet? she would have been relegated to limbo, becoming the same background support prop that Chuck, Gear and even Triad were (whenever they saw action, it always felt a little strained)

rereading Dream Crime, i see something i enjoyed about DNA -- they would establish a rule of their universe and subtly follow it:
Nura is technically linked into Titanet when Universo 1st touches her mind trying to analyze her threat (since he's already begun taking control of the network), and thus accurately percieves the future threat of Darkseid. Since Universo is also linked to Nura and her talent, his Apokolips-invasion illusions reflect what will happen (i.e. Star Boy & Kid Quantum suffering ersatz power flashes, Apokoliptan soldiers trying to takeover UP transport tech).

Pretty neat, huh? Too bad it's so subtle I strained to see it.

(i also think that DNA suffered from not making their contributions big & clear after their spectacular collaborations with Coipel redefining the future on Legion of the Damned/Legion Lost/Legion Worlds)

I see Nura as fitting in with that group pretty appropriately. In fact, I think the postboot Legion's support "staff" woulda/coulda/shoulda been as important as the actual heroes themselves. Return Tenzil and add Kent Shakespeare into the mix and the staff is pretty complete. Or are there other support positions that could have been filled? (What I mean is, are there preboot characters who should have been rebooted as support staff?)

IF the support staff could have been better integrated into the storytelling, I would agree with you. But that's a big IF, and DNA never followed through on it. A team & headquarters as large and politically interconnected as Legion would need an effective support staff - like Gear, Triad, Chuck Taine, Tenzil, Dr. Gym'll, et. al.

It's ironic that Birds of Prey (outselling Legion) is all about support/field dynamics, both as instrumental as the other.

Kent Shakespeare would be a great choice (along with Triad, Dreamer and Gear, as per your view) in some kind of support/field role.

Proty, Tellus, Rond Vidar, Ron-Karr, Color Kid, Jungle King, ESPer Lass, Spider Girl and Loomis could all be pretty decent support additions. Their abilities are duplicated and/or considered minor elsewhere in the Legion, yet they have skills that could be real useful in supporting missions.

Preboot, Proty was interested in photography. That could be interesting to see postboot.

Rond has always been associated with the Time Institute, so a liason with the Legion in time travel concerns makes sense.

I don't really see a helpful role for Color Kid. Maybe as a security guard on a lame shift? Kinda funny, kinda sad.

I think the Legion should have more pets or even more exotic animals in their leisure areas like gardens, so Jungle King could be a great caretaker for them.

Esper Lass was pretty evil preboot, but a milder version of her with an actual personality could be better than the nameless Titanians we've seen postboot.

Spider Girl was rebooted as a Workforce member, and I can't think of a decent job for her at Legion HQ. The only thing that comes to mind is cosmetologist or maybe spa staff. Would her hair give massages?

This has been fun to think about!

i was thinking color kid and spider girl could provide some competition for the athramites

lol

actually i always figured color kid for a scientist of some kind since he was in a lab when he got his powers, so i thought he'd be the theoretical physics aspect to Chuck & Gear

and as for sussa, doesn't EVERY group need a thief? even an unofficial one? and i tell you: if they have Tenzil as cook, Sussa would be a great bartender!

as for the rest, we're on the exact same wavelength
