Could be a mighty short thread, since she only rated one (or was it two?) panels way back when, but huntdrouin brought her back to memory most recently, and she has had a couple mentions here in the past year.

She returns, comes to Legion World and confronts Rokk, and what can he say? "This is a bad dream" or "I thought you died in Zero Hour"? Maybe save it for the next comedy issue...

Quis, Esq had a fun idea for bringing her back as a crazy seeking revenge on Rokk for blowing her off.

'Course, she'll have to be introduced post-boot first and date Rokk while he's mad at Jazmin.

Then maybe she could maim Jazmin in a jealous rage and send her to the infirmary for about 10 issues.

How could I not respond to this thread?

Actually I pictured Syndi as being the one person to have survived the re-boot. No one else knows who she is.

FC, I think she did only get one panel.

So, what's the general opinion? Is Sinde Pallor from LSH #0 a reboot Syndi? She was a magno-skater who Cos was rumored to be dating...

Syndi should be the new Glorith Gary, we really do need and evil grin graemlin

Syndi probably got married, had 2.5 kids (her husband is half Carggite), sold real estate on Angtu and forgot all about her one date with that jerk, Cosmic Boy.

OMG! How could this NOT be an homage?

Posted by deanlegion on :

Totally. Syndi's been rebooted already. One question is, what became of preboot Syndi? Another question is, what became of postboot Sinde? We must recall that Rokk doesn't think of her as being very bright...

Posted by Quislet, Esq on :

Cos said Syndi was "a happy as a clam ... and as about intelligent"

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Jeepers! After checking the issues in question, I've realized that "Sinde" was the preboot version of the character's name, and "Sindy" was the postboot version!

Her sole lines (preboot): Isn't this a marvelous pick Cos? Hey, why are we leaving?

Rokk was going through his super-jerk of space phase, and so he didn't even treat her to a full movie! What a creep!

Posted by Greybird on :

Syndication is a great way to get the capital to finance a Legion animated series! Why, it worked to get "Star Trek: The Next Generation" going. Independent markets out in flyover country have all these starry-eyed kids yearning for heroism ...

... oh. Never mind.

Posted by Quislet, Esq on :

I have been thinking that I was mis-spelling her pre-boot name.

Thanks for setting me straight, Eryk (er that is straight regarding Sinde's name. I'm still my gay ole self [Wink] )

Posted by MLLASH on :

So. We're all in agreement that we want Sindy to return, try to win back her once-boyfriend Rokk and put Kid Quantum in the hospital?

Posted by Leap Year Lass on :

Sinde should write an article about the date for Cosmospolitan. I can see the cover copy now.

ATTRACTED to those hunky Legionnaires?
This tell-all will make you think twice!

Given that the pic in question seems to be Death Wish Part 140, starring Charles Bronson's clone, I can see things from Cos' POV a bit.

Rokk Krinn, doomed to be one of my least favorite Legionnaires for his indiscretions in the S/LSH Grell-era issues.

My young, impressionable mind would never get over the sight of him screaming at Lydda for doing her job rather than HELPING her do it; being a total ass to Sinde; beating the crap out of Light Lass.

Yeah? Well, who dated her, Cos?

Posted by MLLASH on :

Do ya think Lydda made him don the bustier outfit as penace for being such a big, fat asshole bastard to her?

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

She had blonde hair. Maybe she could date Brainy. We only have it on Rokk's authority that she's as intelligent as a clam. Maybe she's some big brain who was playing dumb so he wouldn't feel inferior.

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Maybe by the 30th century clams will have been discovered to be super-intelligent!

And stupid Cos! How often do you find a girl who's into action movies?

Posted by Leap Year Lass on :

Maybe she was an undercover reporter for The Legion Enquirer.

Posted by Mystery Lad on :

I think Syndee (who changes the spelling of her name everyday), should form an all-girl gang of Legion one-time girlfriends. Those magno-skates sound like they'd be a cool weapon... like a high-tech Golden Glider.

Their primary target could be the hated Kid Quantum... secondary targets would be the Legion boys who dumped them.

Other candidates for CATFIGHT! (the name of the gang, exclamation point included, trademarked by Syndee) ...

Xynthia-- dumped by both Star Boy and Superboy

_______-- the girl that Element Lad practically pushed out of an aircar when called to a mission (he seemed relieved, for some reason...)

LANA LANG: adult version, smarting form Superman's choosing Lois over her

There must be others...

Irene!

Then there was the girl who told Sun Boy he'd better not call her anymore, because he broke a date with her to go to a Legion meeting because that was more important to him or something...

Wasn't there someone who was trying to get Lyle to marry her at one point as well?

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

Duplicate Boy could join if they allowed male members!

Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :

And there was that girl who was stalking Dirk during the early issues of Legionnaires!

Posted by Quislet, Esq on :

Chameleon Boy once was flirting with Ambassador Jeryl

And CATFIGHT! is secretly funded by Thora

LOL! But in the tradition of teen girl movies everywhere, the girls of CATFIGHT! always go after other girls first... boys second!

Which leaves Thora pretty much permanently pissed.

Which she is anyway, from what I can tell... [Smile]

You mean besides spooky Mila, the Ghost Girl, who I always thought was going to someday be revealed a villainess who'd kidnapped poor Lyle?

We can't forget Spider Girl!

Emerald Empress was rejected by Superboy. Glorith was rejected by Valor. THose two are pretty heavy hitters for the group.

Lyle did do a Sinde on some girl - I think he dumped her at a museum and ran off on a Legion mission - she was never seen again. Can't find the story.

Posted by MLLASH on :

Wow... an all-Sinde thread reaches 3 pages!

The girl's popularity has certainly bypassed other Legion character lumanaires with their own threads, like Holt and the Metal-Eating Flying Worm-Swarm Thingies.

But does Sinde have her own smiley? [Metal-Eating Worm Thingies]

Posted by Quislet, Esq on :

Sinde does not need her own smiley. All that is Sinde is encompassed by the universe. She can not be defined by a mere emoticon.

Posted by deanlegion on :

I've studied Sinde's scene in S/LSH #212... First of all, she looks a LOT like IMRA! What could that mean? It was a Charles Bronson pic they saw. What could that mean? They left the movie that evening, before it was over, but we then see Coz on the streets of Metropolis "in the chill moments before dawn." He's thinking of Sinde and how it took a girl like her to make him realize how much he missed Lydda. My question is...where exactly was Coz between the time he took Sinde home and this moment before dawn? Could it be that he was with Sinde all that time? Questionable.

THEY HAD SEX!!!!!! I KNEW IT!!!! That bastard Rokk!!!!

Adventure Comics #338 - "The Menace of the Sinister Super-Babies" - reprinted in LSH Archive #4.

Her name is Markita, and she's a schemer in the grand tradition of the Silver Age Lois Lane.

That neither of them have good taste in films.

Sinde survived Zero Hour [I]and[/] the reboot. She's been having an off-panel affair with Rokk all this time. There are rumours that DC plans to bring her on-panel for the Legion's 50th anniversary.

Sindy(Sinde whatever)should come back and choke Kid quantum then she can blow up Imra

Posted by MLLASH on :

Hey Gary!

For the Sinde smiley, you could have a pretty blonde face that morphs into a clam.

Posted by MLLASH on :

Little-known Sinde fact:

She has 2 older siblings, Marzsha & J'ann.

Is Night Girl a character in the current Legion? Lets see a major catfight between Sinde and Lydda - becoz after all, Rokk did take her on...let's see Sinde do it!

Is it Markita you were thinking of - say around ADVENTURE 338 or 339?

Posted by Sketch Lad on :

Y'know, Sinde could care less what all of the Legion's fans think of her. She's just happy doing what she's doing, where she's doing it. I wonder if Sinde and Markita and Marya ever met?

Posted by MLLASH on :

Iresa could eat Sinde for breakfast!

Is this the thread where I give a passionate defense of Cosmic Boy and totally attack Ayla's character? I hope so.

Lesser known fact: Cos slept with both of Sinde's sisters back in his swinging days.

Ayla was jealous because she secretly had a thing for Marzsha.
