It was Shady's power that stopped the war machines at the beginning of The Great Darkness Saga. That time was an accident. Darkseid was sleeping with no knowledge of Legion. This time? Since the power loss has already occurred, how will Darkseid's knowledge of Legion be explained, let alone Umbra?

Someone in one of my APAs suggested a Legion/JSA link by having Obsidian be somehow involved with the shadow powers. Maybe he's the Shadow Force that's the enemy.
