Let's face it, the Anywhere Machine didn't go anywhere. So to speak. Computo could have turned out better. The thresholds were okay, but he didn't really invent them, did he? He was totally out to lunch on the flight rings.
So what's he been doing down there in the lab? Reading Racing Form? Building a de-nunnifier ray?

Aside from a shrink ray, the Anywhere Machine, his force field belt, and a few dozen stored experiments on Colu, have we ever seen Querl invent anything postboot? The shrink ray and Anywhere Machine were really just plot devices we probably won't see ever again.

Whatever he invents, hopefully it'll be something that will malfunction and create a good storyline.
The only thing I can think of that he invented postboot was the time platform.

How about an alternate outcome machine based on quantum physics. It could show the alternate realities created at any point in time. Not quite sure how it could be used, but in conjunction with time travel, there might be some possibilites.

This idea has some interesting possibilities. If you could view alternate outcomes, you could create the reality of your choosing. This could be used to "birth" the Time Trapper or Glorith.

He could have been on the verge of creating this alternate reality viewer in the pre-boot anniversary issue in which Douglas Nolan was experiencing alternate realities, and B5 and Rond Vidar were viewing these through him. But at the end, Brainy said there was enough to live in this reality, or some such thing. That must have been his mellow period.

Agreed, I was thinking of the Doug Nolan story when I read through this thread. I think would make for an interesting plotline but would probably never be used because it undoes eveything DC has tried to "correct" over over the years with Crisis, Hypertime, Pocket Universes, post-boots etc.

Very intriguing concept there. Maybe somehow Lori MOrning decides the erase the fact that the Blight ever came, but she sees how this leads her to becoming Glorith.
Maybe this knowledge is what drives her to become Glortih to begin with...
