My first thought was The Persuader and his axe against the Thing... Is the Emerald Eye involved? Where is this battle taking place? The Marvel Universe... then my money is on the FFour. DCU then my money is on the FFive. Earth 2, then I'd bet on the FFive. If Giffen is writing it then I think they'd all loose. And some planet would blow up.
Maybe I'm just getting lost in the details... I bet the FF would win.

Tharok could match wits with Mr. Fantastic. Validus could keep Thing occupied for awhile. The Persuader coul probably be taken out by the Human Torch. Invisibility doesn't work against the Eye so Sue's as good as caught. That just leaves Mano to blow everybody up. 'Course the Five couldn't even beat Timber Wolf so I'm sure the Four wouldn't have a problem.

Actually, I don't know all the details about the Fantastic Four, but I'll try this anyway...
Validus and the Thing would get caught up in a slug fest. Tie.
The Invisible Woman would put the Eye in a force field, and begin a fist fight with the Empress. The Empress proves to be much stronger than Sue in a fight. Reed immediately lends a stretched out hand, assisting Sue in a knock out punch.
The Human Torch would be involved in a fight against the Persuader, lots of swinging of the axe versus aerial acrobatics. And blasts of fire. Persuader wins.
Mano would attempt to fry Reed, while Tharok stands in the background, barking orders. Once Mano is kayoed, it'd be Reed versus Tharok, where Reed uses his smarts to overwhelm Tharok's robot side. Reed wins.
Sue turns her attention to the Persuader. Her force fields don't stand a chance next to his axe. He takes her out.
An exhausted Reed faces the Persuader. Reed manages to tire him out, and take him down.
Reed then finds the battling big guys. He uses his body to bind Validus, slowing him down, which gives the Thing the leverage to bring on the crushing blow.
With the Fatal Five contained, the Fantastic Four reflect upon their battle, and acknowledge Reed's vigor at facing each and every of the villains.

I think folks underestimate the Invisible Woman. Byrne revealed via her Malice disguise that her "force-fields" were actually like telekinesis. She took down Reed, Johnny AND Ben.
It's likely she could take the entire F5 if they didn't sneak up on her first.

In the latest FF, Doom actually says something like "I always thought Susan was the most powerful of you" (right after he took over her mind and posessed her, so if you and Doom are right, the FF are in for it...)

As Malice, she defeated her entire team. Keep in mind she was MASKED. Reed, etc. didn't KNOW it was Sue and therefore had no reason to hold back. She stomped them into the ground, I tells ya!

I'm not particularly a fan of the Fantastic Four, but I gotta say the Fatal Five has not really impressed me all that much. My money is on Marvel's premiere team. I mean, they do have the whole teamwork thing down after more than forty years working together nearly nonstop. The Fatal Five are a group of villains who don't really seem to like eachother, and their appearances must be sporadic at best.
