Dr. Doom?

Galactus?

Thanos?

The Masters of Evil? (HUGE version that nearly destroyed the Avengers)

Mephisto?

Loki?

Magneto?

Anybody who has any others, add 'em!

Considering the date ... al-Qaeda?

If we take the current U.S. government at "its" word, after all, those guys are damn near omnipotent. Enough, at least, for us to shred the Bill of Rights over fighting them.

Alright, I'll bite on this one Grey...

So you don't think we should be fighting them?

To get it back on track, the Legion would toast 'em all. It would be interesting to see Thanos trying to compete with Mordru or the Trapper, though.

I would like to see the Legion to go against the Sentinels and the Hellfire Club and its Hellions!

The Legion Against Mephisto could be very interesting

All the others, they'd just overwhelem by sheer force of numbers

Who was the big baddie during DC's "Battle of the Planets" thing? (where Aquaman and Hippolyta were killed) I didn't really follow that series, but that guy could be a challenge for the Legion.

I don't know much about those villains, but just trying to think about the times the Legion has been defeated (temporarily of course - but I mean, clearly in retreat).

Universo has habitually controlled them all - or controlled most and sent the others underground for a period of time, in all his stories. The Blight was Universo on chlorophyll.

Mordru (in the Adventure era story) had them (the small team that was available to fight him) on the run to the 20th century, but only temporarily.

Even with Darkseid, they kept fighting - although individuals fell. Same with the Time Trapper
(if we exclude wiping out entire time lines, thereby destroying the Legion.)

They seem to be pretty much undefeatable, whoever they're up against. I guess it comes down to a question of losses, injuries and material damage.

However, to bring back the al-Queda reference - if you consider that to be a group of many small cells, numbers and locations unknown, performing acts at random (as opposed to an armed invasion to take over a physical territory), with a potential constant influx of new members - well, I don't think there's been a villain quite like that in Legion history. (Perhaps the Black Circle came close to it.) Something like that could prove a very ominous foe for the Legion - by sheer numbers, diversity of actions and unpredictability, they could maybe overwhelm the Legion.

Somehow I can't quite envision Osama Bin Louse Ridden as the new leader of the LSV. But I can envision the Espionage Squad taking out Al Queda in short order.

Bin Louse Ridden has only one note to play on his horn - the unexpected strike from a hidden location. [Mad] [Mad]

Cham, Lyle, Vi, and the rest could easily infiltrate and destroy any Terrorist organization.

Too Bad they havent been born yet. But, we can Hope.

I really wish that someone from Green Lantern writing team should NOT invented a group called "BLACK Circle"! It s starting to get confused with that and "Dark Circle". Black Circle is in GL and Dark Circle is in Legion.

Just a little nitpicky, sorry for a short temper nag.

Hmmm...you know, i have been hearing several comments saying that the Legion is too powerful to be defeated by any villains or any superhero orgazination because of "sheer number". Okay, I asked myself about one other group that LSH has fought over and over...I wonder if that group would fare well or the same as the Legion does - the Legion of Super Villains...

Imagine who will win - LSV (sheer number) vs. the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants? (for example)

What about the G-7 Authority? They whipped the pseudo-Legion in their title.

Let's see...

Him (PPG)--he manipulates reality, your friends, your family, he turns your fears against you, he turns your strengths against you too (sometimes)

Morpheo the Dream Demon (NOT a smurfy fella)--again rivals that Dream Demon that Invisible Kid II and Wildfire, just avoid that covered bridge

The Legion of Doom (Superfriends)--just watch out for the repetitive cliche of a teleporting device at the end of each encounter--the LSV only did that once (Esper Lass & the Gil'Dispan creep)

Gentleman Jim Craddock (Superfriends Version turning every world leader into ghosts--say having a grudge against M'onel & Andromeda)

The Beat-Alls (PPG--Him, Mojo Jojo, Princess Morebucks (how about her as a love interest for Lester wasshisname), Fuzzy Lumpkins (to my knowledge the Legion has never faced a villain that was Hillbillyish))

Vandal Savage (he'd be as tricky and as evil as Ra's al Ghul and he's lived even longer than Ra's)

Malhavok (Superfriends--a Mordru level opponent)--challenging yes

Daedalus, Mask, Willameen (villains from the old Hercules cartoon--bwah ha ha ha ha)--the Legion wouldn't even break a sweat

Garmamel, Chlorhydris, Balthazar (a very Unsmurfy and annoying and incompetent trio)--again the Legion wouldn't even break a sweat

Joker (how would the Legion deal with the Joker's brand of insanity)

Skeletor and his Evil Warriors/Council of Evil (man I'd looooove to see that!--not that He-Man and the Masters can't handle them on their own)

Zoltar/Spectra/Captain Doom--the Legion would wipe the space ways with them!!!!

The Master (a bunch of important U.P. officials have been shrunk to the size of dolls)/The Rani (civilians have been robbed of the ability to sleep and other's have complained of a unexplained rashes on their necks--*The Rani is sort of like a female version of Ra's al Ghul--She wants to control evolution and has no qualms about experimenting/killing people to accomplish her goal/Davros & The Daleks (think shrivelled 400 year old plus guy in a futuristic hoverchair (now a Dalek himself) and inverted pepper shaker robotic versions of the Progenitor and the Progeny)/The Cybermen (think Robotica)/Omega (no relation whatsoever to the pre-boot creature--this Omega was a Time Lord who got sucked into a black hole and turned into Anti-Matter)/The Black Guardian (a being whose evil even surpasses the Time Trapper's)--challenges for the Legion, yes but not impossible ones

The best way to find out where you're from is to find out where you're going and then work backwards.
Where are you going?
I don't know!

Spooooooon!!!
