My goal has been to collect the entire Legion, and important appearances, from every version, in one form or another (single issues, Archives, TPBs, etc)

We start off with the Archives. I already have the first four, and plan to buy the remaining eight in time. Easy to get off of Amazon and/or ebay.

I then have the "Legion of Super-Heroes" series from issue 259 (when Superboy departs) to the final original issue, 313.

I just won LoSHv3 on ebay, an auction which is missing only 4 issues but has all four annuals.

I already own complete runs, annuals included, of LoSHv4 and Legionnaires.

11 issues of Legion Lost (missing only issue 5) and full runs of Legion Worlds and The Legion. I have the Teen Titans/Legion special via the "Titans Tomorrow" TPB.

Almost a full collection of LoSHv5, missing only two issues in the beginning (and I have the TPB that collects those issues, as well as the preview that appeared in the Teen Titans/Legion special). Full run of S&LoSH.

In regards to minis and special issues, I have the full Timberwolf mini, the Legion of Substitutes special, Legends of the Legion, Legion Science Police, Titans/Legion: Universe Ablaze, Inferno, and the Secret Files from the post-ZH version.

I recently won, on ebay, "Secrets of the Legion" and "Legionaires 3".

All I need to get, now?

The relatively small gap between Archive 12 and issue 259, and the annuals from this series.

The Karate Kid mini.

Who's Who in the Legion.

The Valor series (which I ALMOST won last night...outbid at the last second)

And then the few issues I'm missing.

Anything else come to mind?

...Of course, now comes the task of READING all of the issues of the original Legion, up to Zero Hour.

I'm no expert, but let's see: the Cosmic Boy miniseries, the Superboy's Legion Elseworlds story, and L.E.G.I.O.N., if you're counting that. I remember one of the Adventure digests from the '80s that had a new Infantino-drawn Colossal Boy story in it; not sure where else that might be. Check Legion Omnicom for more; he's got some kind of checklist there.

Oh, that's right, I do have the Cosmic Boy mini, I forgot that.

And I'm only missing about...7 issues of a complete L.E.G.I.O.N./R.E.B.E.L.S. run, although I don't know if I count that.

As I reacll that Infantino story was basically "bookends" to the Marte Allon as a glass statue reprint story of that issue. Still pretty cool though. If nothing else, the digest series is worth having for all the Levitz commentary on the series. Some good reading there.

I recently ran across the reprints of the JLA/JSA teamups and had to buy one of them because of the crossover Legion tale. It's really horrible, I hated Dick Dillon's artwork and the story is depressingly weak (which is probably why I didn't buy it when it was on the stands way-back-when) but I had to have it because of a sudden flareup of the 'Completist' flu.

There are a couple of issues of Showcase that have Legion tales in 'em and two or three issues of the 90's Superboy series that were Legion crossovers. Then there's Superman Plus and Adventures in the DC Universe.

Let's see...
The "dead Legionnaires' issue of Secret Origins is way cool. Also I think there's an issue that had the origin of the Subs. Wasn't there one with Shadow Lass as the lead character?

More will probably come to mind after I log off [Big Grin]

The Infantino story was from Best of DC Digest #24, a framing sequence for the "flashback" reprint of Adventure 271-2.

There was the JLA/JSA/LSH x-over in JLA 147-8 (i think).

DC Super-stars #17 features the first mission of the original 3 legionnaires.

DC Special (#28, i think?) was themed, "earth-shattering disasters," or somesuch, and has Legion, Batman and someone else (Aquaman?) stories.

The 1980 Christmas special features a LSH story (it also has Frank Miller's first-ever Batman story).

There were 4 DC Comics Presents appearances (1 was the subs): 13, 43, 80 (LSH) and 57 or 59 (subs). Bats and the Legion appeared in Brave and Bold 179. Karate Kid appeared in the 190s (193 or 198, i think). Kamandi #58 (i think) was the continuation of KK's last issue, #15.

Legion also appeared in New Adventures of Superboy #50, and an issue of World's Finest (284 or thereabouts).
