To celebrate 40 years of conspiracy theory, here's a new one. Who Killed Oliver Coipel?
DC are in the process of reprinting as trade paperbacks a host of Legion Of Superheroes material. It's about time, and Paul Levitz is a big fan of the series.
However the upcoming trades are expected to miss out the first four years of the "Legion series, after which Coipel left. Trades will start with the first non-Coipel arc, and future trades will run from that point.
Surely it couldn't be just because he left to go to "Avengers?" Something deeper? Pure coincidence? Magic bullets?
Given that I've still not got any of Legion Lost and my early current-run stuff is about as holey as a pair of old socks I don't find this especially good news.

What a crock. It doesn't affect me, as I've got all the post-boot stuff, but as a guy who struggled to find all that stuff (and succeeded thanks only to T Troy McNemar!) I'm worried about others that will be unable... and due to DC's new No Coipel Policy, it seems like it's getting harder to be a completist.

That's really hard to understand. Legion Lost was/is pretty crucial to the current Legion. I like to get the trades to fill in the history I've missed when I pick up a new-to-me series. It is hard to find a complete run of that arc's back issues at a reasonable price.
as a BIG fan of Olivier Coipel i would have liked to have seen his work in the new LEGION tpbs !!!!
and even if i wasn't a fan of his work, it seems a little strange for them not to release the trades in the order that, the stories first came out !!!!
all the most recent tpbs of current titles, have done so .....
